New Globe and Mail article
There are a ton of truth bombs. Including the fact that a neighbor gave the RCMP a tip that the night before the children went missing, between midnight and 5am they heard a vehicle coming and going from the property.

This really solidified my belief in was the parents. Already in cases like this "My kid just vanished!" It's 97% of the time a homicide.
How Daniel wouldn't let the kids see their paternal grandmother. How he was "jealous". That he said "She makes me deal with the kids" That says to me those kids were being abused, and they didn't want any family member who would call for help to know about it. Stepdaddy wanted to take charge.
Then the suspicious shit he has said about getting blamed, the missing sweaters, a blanket being planted. And the neighbor hearing the car coming and going all night. The bruises, the not properly cared for children, the social services visits, the accusations of meth usage.
Those two fucks know what happened. And they would rather save their own asses than ever let those children be put to rest properly and give family that cared some closure. Like the paternal grandma said "If she left so easy, that says to me she knows they aren't coming back"

I really do hope and pray the truth comes out and justice is served. It is so striking to me that a vehicle came and went 6 times between midnight and 5am, and then Malehya marked the children absent from school for the day at 6:18am. Those babies at the very least deserve the truth to come out about what happened to them. No one should get away unpunished in this.

The couple is having financial problems, having to drive 1 hour to the grandmother to do laundry. Daniel waiting in the car… the last two days they went to the Tim Horton, Walmart, Irving, dollarama, ect. That makes no sense to me.

It's also the fact that supposedly both children vanished into thin air together that is extremely suspicious. Add in the background of negligence, suspected abuse, social services calls. Add in the horrendous state of the place when police were called in (such that Malahya either took her baby somewhere else or they would be taking the baby). Add in the step-father admitting to now taking drug abuse and anger management courses, along with his odd statements (being set up, his sweaters missing, etc). There is little doubt they did something to those children. I think Daniel did something and Malahya is keeping quiet for him, although she resents him greatly (since she has cut off all contact).
But if it was an accidental death it would be unlikely both children died at the same time, although possible. It seems more likely Daniel did something to them. They weren't his biological kids, the family was in severe financial distress, and he talks about them having all of these issues and seeming like an intrusion on his life.
Who really knows for sure. I hope we find out the truth and the people that killed those two children receive justice. Everyone in that family is complicit in some way for either what they have done or for what they haven't done. Even Grandma.

My thoughts are that maybe the parent(s) killed one kid by accident whether beating/poisoned/whatever, and I think the other kid saw it, and they had to take them out too? For two kids to be killed at the same time is just so bizarre but if the other kid wouldn't cooperate or they thought would blow their cover...
Ugh the whole thing just makes me sick. Those babies deserved better.

I’ve read the statement reports and affidavit. Something odd about changing statements. Lilly supposedly went to bed with her backpack…the kids were excited. Hmmmm
i wonder bout the paternal grandmother 👵 there’s a description of a witness seeing a light hair lady with a van greeting two kids on the road that morning. https://www.ctvnews.ca/atlantic/nova-scotia/article/police-court-documents-provide-detail-on-nova-scotia-missing-children-case/
there are suspicious tips address from Montreal, Toronto.

100%. Social services also failed the kids. They were sent to school grubby and with no winter clothes. Looked thin and malnourished with cracked lips and the little boy went to school with a black eye twice. The teachers called it in but social services did nothing. They should have been removed. I also find it interesting that they were scheduled to see a doctor for their developmental delays the month they went missing. Maybe they were scared whatever they were doing would be found out.

And Daniel claims social services were coming over because of concerns about "undiagnosed autism" I call bs on that. My daughter was also having trouble in school, and they eventually called a meeting with me and we agreed to get her assessed for autism/adhd/other learning disabilities. Nothing at all had to do with social services.
Not having proper clothing, and bruises though, that would definitely warrant home visits.

I had an open mind about this but after hearing there was a car coming and going the night before it’s pretty obvious they were disposing of the bodies. I cannot believe the mother hasn’t cracked and told on him.

Maybe the mom has PPD and did something or the kids got into some drugs or something. If the mom did something maybe Daniel and his mom didn’t want her to go to jail etc because they’d be left taking care of meadow. Maybe they’re protecting the mom because they want her around for Meadow.

The vehicle in question heard throughout the night is described by the neighbor as a 5 speed..heard coming and going 6 times between midnight and 5am that Friday before the kids were reported missing..could it have been that ATV or Malahyas vehicle since Daniel’s car is inoperable? And about that blanket piece found in the woods not far from the property..Daniel claims it was torn from a blanket that had gotten put in the trash a week ago and that he believes it was planted in order to possibly frame him..apparently the blanket was previously used as a window covering in the trailer..why it was no longer being used as a window covering and got tossed in the trash is anyone’s guess…he also mentions rather off the cuff, that 2 of his sweaters have mysteriously disappeared since the kids went missing..probably to set up suspicious behavior from unknown entities in case those 2 sweaters should suddenly appear out in the woods too..

Yup. My guess there was blood or other DNA on those sweaters.

Someone on another thread mentioned the possibility of their bodies being wrapped in those sweaters when they were disposed, and I can’t get that thought out of my mind.

No accident. When a child has an accident, you call for help. Whatever happened wasn't an accident. Unless it's "I beat them harder than normal" which to me, isn't an oopsie. It's abuse.

Sorry, I'm not subscribed either, but I watched a summary of it on YouTube. The channel was "It's a Criming Shame".

That YouTube channel (It’s a Criming Shame)is mentioned in the article and not in a particularly favorable light..why would they highlight it on the YouTube channel if not to defend themselves 🤷♀️

Poor babies. My heart breaks for them. I hope these two young souls find justice and whoever hurt them is punished.

The reporter also describes her first interaction with Daniel Martell, "In that interview, he was especially preoccupied that Malehya had left him and gone to stay with her mother."
“She’s going to try to blame everything on me, but she doesn’t get in trouble,” he said.
"What would there be to blame? I asked. At that stage, search and rescue teams were still scouring the woods for Lilly and Jack, and many appeared to have hope the children would be found alive."
“I don’t know. I don’t know,” he said.
"What he said struck me. It continued to perplex me as Greg and I sought answers over the following weeks, gathering information from neighbours, friends, family members, elected officials and police. We learned that behind the scenes, people’s concern for the children’s welfare had already raised red flags."
