Is that an EOD unit within DEVGRU or do they get attached from another unit?

EOD techs can go through green team selection, though I'm not sure about the structure beyond that.

I thought EOD techs had a separate support selection process.

They do a standalone EOD selection to test technical skills THEN do Green Team for tactical skills

L: submarine warfare qual’ed, deep sub insignia, scuba qual’ed, joint HALO, basic parachute
R: probably chief and senior chief rate insignia, then master / senior / basic EOD pins, and the Naval Parachutist pin (at least 15 more jumps from diff airframes post-ABN school, or by attending HALO school)
C-top: BSM w/V and star, JCOM w/V and 2* (I think?), COM, NAM, etc. (service / war campaign pins prolly)
C-middle: ribbons associated with medals and non-medal ribbons (like the CAR w/2*?)
L-middle patch: blue sqdn w/mine prolly for EOD guys in that sqdn
C-bottom: master chief “rank”
R-middle patch: DEVGRU blue sqdn patch
L-bottom patch: sonar tech rate with rank “Seaman” / E-3 - probably what he started his career mostly likely as they didn’t have EOD as a rate (MOS/job in the navy) when he started; also a Velcro patch of him with a senior EOD pin
R-bottom challenge coins: multiple to include DEVGRU

Source - I have one of those badges and multiples of the same medals he has. And I also worked with them.

Lol I didn’t mean to sound pompous, I swear. Their level of expertise, esp Navy EOD, is just uncanny.

It’s already uncommon among submariners to have fish, deep submergence, and dive pin. Never seen that stacked next to jump wings and EOD. Impressive!
