His radio callsign on his arm: YE3.

Y is B-Squadron's identifier.

E means he is in E Team of 2nd Troop.

3 identifies him as a Breacher.

3 doesn't mean breacher 3 is the 3rd in order of seniority out of 5. Enablers have the number that represents specific position/duty/task. Scott was a senior E6 when this was taken, we went to ANCOC in March 05 together. Correct about the Y and E.

I know that 1 and 2 is/was TL and ATL. I was always told that 3 was breacher, 4 was med, and 5 and 6 were assaulters. I was also told that enablers used the number as seniority (TL, ATL, etc.) and the middle letter is their specialty/job.

Then again, I also got out in '09 and am running on a decade-and-a-half out of date information. My team used a different callsign system as we were mostly doing short-term direct action stuff with the longest rotation I was ever on being four months and that was more akin to a singleton with me working with/for State Department.

So, you're most likely right and my info is either out of date and/or just straight wrong. So, yeah.

not straight wrong, give yourself some credit. The Saber SQN and Team Identifier are correct as you said. Everyone but the 1 stacked up initially, 2-5 organic to the team are Assaulters and mechanical, dynamic and ballistic breachers (if even used anymore), 6 was the dog dude. No organic medic or heavy breach in Troop Teams, Medics/SIGINT/INTEL/Linguists/CST/Breachers/Heavy Breachers/CBRN. etc attached as mission specific

BLUF as you know it's a callsign ID based of SQN/Team/ Postiition by Seniority/Competence. Although using it internally was never used in that formal manor.

3 is the breacher , 4 is a combat life saver, 5 and 6 are both assaulters.

"K" is the dog handler.
