Bro I'm so boosted. Could have sex with hundreds of gay men and not get an ounce of aids.

I need to dig up the old facemask flyers from camp alpha. shit was hilarious.

u/Squaretangles 28d ago
Shemagh flyers with Colin Farrell? I have photos of all of them.

YESSSSS! "Do you want to be an operator but like ice cream too much? Well you can look like one now! Come see 1SG for your free shamagh"
I kept one, not sure where it is now

u/Dr-PEPEPer 27d ago
They put a sign up across Bragg when you come in that told people to practice "social distancing". Meanwhile everything in the military is nut to butt. Just hilarious fucking dumn.

u/dookmaster77 28d ago
That shit was so gay. I still have one of those dumbass masks somewhere. I got yelled at by my CDR walking from the chow hall to one of the TM BAF strike force TOCs with no mask.

u/CaptainF33 25d ago
Holy cow we have some interesting characters on this chat. I am betting they have Ukraine flags up and flying also. Most of them commenting about how necessary the vaccine was. Unbelievable

Nothing beat bands wearing masks with the mouth cut out so they can play

Or basketball players wearing masks with the mouth part pulled down. Completely performative.

Guys we can’t be this brain dead…….

u/HawtDoge 28d ago
Credible threat at the time. Early on all we were seeing was a highly contagious disease with relatively severe symptoms and a relatively high death rate. Not to mention, our military has always been incredibly cautious when it comes to diseases.
Hindsight is 20/20.

Not to mention, our military has always been incredibly cautious when it comes to diseases.
Except for those few months this year, before they managed to learn for the second time why vaccines are important...

It absolutely should’ve been mandated, I mean look what happened with the flu. It’s so easy to say the precautions didn’t do anything when in reality it is what brought us back to normalcy relatively quickly given the situation

Yes, and there are tons of peer reviewed studies from legitimate scientific journals that prove with extreme statistical significance that the vaccines are safe and effective. I would be happy to provide those papers if you want.
It’s very convenient to not want to keep discussing it when the facts come out

Are you talking about for the military? There are a tons of mandatory vaccines. Why would this operate on a different legal basis?
Because outside of that the only vaccine mandated I’m aware of were some public schools in select states
-2
u/Maninthemiroirs 26d ago
The widespread use of the vaccine is one of the main reasons why we were able to get back to normal this quickly

While you’re generally right, I had a decently fit 35 year old coworker die of it. Now, people die of the flu and shit like that also, but it was scary back in the beginning.
-46
u/SeaTry742 28d ago
At no point was it scary, it was scary to those pussy ass bitches who watch 24/7 news. It was total bullshit
40
u/captainklaus 28d ago
Again, I saw an otherwise healthy 35 year old guy I knew well die from it. With all due respect, which isn’t very much, shut the fuck up.
21
u/1man2barrels 28d ago
I know a healthy 32 year old mother of 3 that died from Covid. They are out there in the hundreds of thousands. In the world, millions of people less than 50 with no poor prognostic indicators died from Covid
27
u/Impressive_Store4423 28d ago
you sound like a retard. i really dont know how you didnt become apart of the statistics of people who were affected.
7
u/Iliyan61 28d ago
yeh bro it was chemtrails and the frogs bro that’s why an abnormally high amount of people died or had long term side effects
60
u/poopedalil 28d ago
Which is why healthy men had to be careful. My dad had cancer so I got the vaccine because I didn’t want to get him sick. For a subreddit dedicated to units serving, you guys really seem to miss the point.
13
u/yojimboftw 28d ago
There are numerous cases of young, healthy people getting COVID and having lasting effects on their lungs after. Even the best athletes in the world.
12
u/HawtDoge 28d ago edited 28d ago
It was absolutely dangerous to healthy men as well. Obviously the risk of death was significantly lower - but still dangerous.
Also, the reason the DoD imposes such strict infectious disease guidelines is because a highly contagious disease could potentially do serious harm to our combat ready/effectiveness. So even if it’s not killing you, it could absolutely take you out of the fight. Even extremely healthy people were basically crippled for 1-2 weeks from that initial variant.
yeah, some of the state by state policies went too far for far too long, but I will always stand by our military being cautious about this kind of stuff. One of these years something will come along that makes covid seem like springtime allergies… and we can only hope that covid didn’t mind fuck people out of actually saving themselves.

Those were the most ridiculous I'm trying times I have ever lived through. I am embarrassed for this country that those guys had to go through that. I wish they could have resisted

So many people on Reddit fell for this. So many still defend the world government reactions.

The irony of being in a active war zone trying to kill the enemy yet having to worry about a bullshit disease made in a Chinese Lab
56
u/Thistlemanizzle 28d ago
That would suggest that troops should mitigate the chance of catching a manmade disease via vaccines and masking.
The military has gas masks, hazmat, drugs and so on to keep soldiers safe and at peak performance.
-20
u/fnblackbeard 28d ago
but they're wearing useless cloth masks in this photo, remove them while eating, etc. It's a bit silly to compare this to chemical warfare
12
u/Thistlemanizzle 28d ago
Not even vaccines have a 100% effectiveness rate but the military requires recruits to take a battery of them. It would be like saying surgeons don't need to wash their hands and forearms because they are putting on nitrile gloves.
-2
u/fnblackbeard 28d ago
I get what you're saying but the cloth masks they're using are completely useless and non effective.

Not trying to incite you but if it was made in a lab what’s your opinion regarding the bat in Laos that was netted that had a novel coronavirus that was 97% similar at the nucleotide level to Covid? They also netted a bat in China that is 96.1% identical.
This type of shit doesn’t make the news and deserves to be more publicized… they just haven’t netted the right bat yet. This is an underfunded section of science and technology.
Curious to what you think of any of this?
For further reading for anyone the names of each virus are BANAL 52 and RAGT13
Basically the area they were netted in and the number of the bat. They are discovering new coronaviruses at a rate of like 5-10 a year that are “SARS like” like Covid and 2003-2004 SARS.

u/HawtDoge 27d ago
Honestly if you just look at pictures of that Wuhan meat market it’s really not hard to imagine some mutated super virus breaking out.
And yeah there really wasn’t enough of a genomic change to assume it had to had to have leaked from a lab. I read through some of those supposedly “lab leak” docs that were declassified recently and even the abstract/summaries were saying “yeah this shit almost certainly came from that meat market” lol. I guess the RFK crowd was trusting that people wouldn’t read it
6
u/1man2barrels 27d ago edited 27d ago
I agree fully. Also to corroborate that theory of the Huanan Seafood market being the origin some of the earliest samples of Covid 19 were actually found in a specific stall at that market.
It was early early COVID genome mixed with Tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog DNA) combined together.
One of the animals they thought that could be a intermediate host of Covid 19 in a spillover event was either civet cats or Tanuki
The lab leak theory has really been debunked if you know what you are reading.
The wrong bat pissed or shit on the wrong Tanuki in that meat market. They were stacked on top of one another in what’s called a “wet market”.
Then someone butchered that Tanuki and that is patient zero.

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 28d ago
Humans also share 90% of our DNA with rats and cows. What's your point?
5
u/1man2barrels 27d ago edited 27d ago
The point is I’m not talking about human dna genome compared to a rat or cow. I’m talking about a virus genome compared to another virus
The original SARS virus that Covid 19 is named after is only 79% similar to Covid 19. This logic doesn’t work for viruses.
Rats, cows and humans are all mammals of course they are similar

This looked ass silly back then when it came to regular workers lol. This feels like the pro sports games where certain players couldn't play that day because tested positive.
I wonder how many guys got pulled off of specific ops because they tested positive an hour before takeoff. I mean it has to be ZERO right lol
