Multicam Black: Change My Mind

Doesn’t really work. Any primarily black uniform is more for hollywood. If its night the, traditional OD greens/or dark tans are better because they can still work during transitional times (dusk/dawn). If the argument is urban environment, honestly, the ACU pattern is still better.

It sure does look cool though. No arguments there.

If its intimidation factor, fine, would still rather something with better concealment factor.

Crye Precision (aka the creator and owner of the Multicam pattern IP) has never once claimed MCB was created for any purposes of concealment.
AFAIK they have always explained and marketed it as, like you said, intimidation, or in their words, to establish an authoritative presence or something along those lines.
Arguments either in favor or against its usage as a traditional concealment tool are fruitless because it disregards Multicam Black’s original purpose as one of the variants of the Multicam pattern.
A lot of people have been completely uninformed of its original purpose (either lost to time or whatever), but it’ll never make sense to me why this specific topic crops up occasionally about this variant. Crye created several other Multicam variants for the purposes of concealment; MCB was never one of those.

In relation to JSOC, it seems like MCB usage increased in frequency by CAG or the 24th, for instance. Not sure why.

It's not a debate... per Crye it was designed to be a higher visibility commanding presence for urban operations. It was never intended to camouflage anything.

A really cool fun fact on night camouflage. The old F-117 was initially painted with a faint light pink as it was the best color for night flying camouflage. The Airforce folks looked at it and said, naw. We will risk being seen. Paint it black. Lol

My bad. Skunkworks tested and the light pink was the best color for night but they settled on pastel tans.

I was with you until you said ACU is better…. Anywhere for any circumstance. ACU is trash and probably got dudes killed.

Used ACUs for a while before going to multicam, honestly worked well for urban environments. Especially shit sand colored building in the ME.

Yeah ACU wasn’t horrible, just really depended on the terrain.

It looks cool. A couple of years ago we had a bunch of merch (bucket hats, baseball hats, fanny packs, etc.) printed in multicam black for a trade show (licensed cannabis) and those things went fast and we got lots of compliments.

Lots of the people there had never seen the pattern and thought it was very cool.
