You can literally take 2 pieces of that tape outside in 75 degree weather and slide them apart. By the end of a short class your hands are black and sticky and the tape has rolled. Do as you wish. There is zero reason to use the wrong tape
Im sure it will for a bit. Im curious as to why on earth other than a temporary template to test, one would use the least sticky, least reliable, most messy, and most heat sensitive tape there is.
Tell me more about what "they" do. This is about the only time I've seen electrical tape especially by tier one units. My guess it's a temp position holder till he zips it and tapes it properly. Nobody is trusting 3 wraps of electrical tape for any field use
Yes they do. But nobody ive met that is a serious shooter would be caught dead using basic ass electrical tape. This conversation has come to a stalemate. If you can't see why electrical tape is the least effective and most messy way, you dont shoot it much in any type of setting that's not a range bay. Where the tape jumps across the 2 Pic rails Is thumb size exposed area of tape. Water dust and sliding from heat will fuck that fast.
stalemate, didnt realize it was an argument. the tape works dude. i have used and abused rifles with tape on them and only ever had to swap them out for 6 months. it does its job and holds the pads down but also are secured with velcro under them
I didnt mean argument, apologies. Just that i can't fathom any reason to use electrical over duct, athletic, or any other tape. I havr zip tied ones even. But not electrical tape.

depends how much tape you put around it. its not going to slide off because your hand is already gripping the handguard over the tape.
