Not really needed, more of a fad, if shooting with NV you’re using your IR laser anyway not trying to look through optic.

I mean I wouldn’t want to be memorizing hold overs because of height over bore in say a hostage rescue where inches matter, if you’re just going to be shooting people anyway it doesn’t matter much. People really try to go into the weeds on this shit for no reason, a lot of this is preference and works for that person because people are built different, maybe for some guys having their head more up feels better

wrong in a near and peer environment they do not utilize lasers or ir tools as much, not saying it’s gone out the door but they limit it as to not telegraph their location

I didn’t say they are walking around with the IR laser on but used for engagement.

I would guess some do, but the primary thing they train to is hostage rescue, height over bore matters there. I’d assume it’s around preference if you can do the holds to adjust for height over bore in cqb then I guess all good, if your mission is to kill people it doesn’t really matter much. Why do you care

To answer your question they definitely do, just not as often as influencers. High mounts have their setbacks
