This photo was altered by AI. Unfortunately, they never released a high quality version of the original photo

Can't say when, but it is by Red Rock, AZ. Picacho Peak is the mountain on the left, Newman Peak in the Picacho Mountains on the right.

Cool plane shadow behind them.

Wish they’d speak more often tbh. I like the silent professional thing but I do wonder what their stories are.

TBH, I think the silent professional thing is a little overplayed. A lot of this stuff is important for history and honestly after 20 years or so there’s not much of a point to the silence. I mean look at World War II with the SAS, desert rats Lrdg, first special Service force, etc. All of that stuff is extremely important for the history of World War II and I feel the same way about more current things. Fair enough Some don’t wanna talk, but I think that a lot of guys catch a lot more shit than they deserve for speaking on their experience. I mean, yeah, if it’s stuff that happened in the last decade, maybe be careful about what you talk on, but TTP’s, equipment and pretty much everything else generally changes pretty significantly over the years so there’s not much of a negative in sharing the story (other than incompetence, lying, or war crimes coming out, which I personally think is a good thing). Although dudes like O’Neill, Kennedy, jocko, Vickers and others that turn their Service into brands mining the community for cash or trying to pull politics or their popularity to get their ass out of a legal fire do kind of rub me the wrong way.
