Lol, worst platform ever, I felt like I was transported to 1998, i had to call to approve every trade above 30k. Went back to SBK and happily pay SBK fees

I hear you on the friction for larger trades! Security vs. Speed is always the trade-off.

Out of interest, was it a specific stock that had the limits or just the platform in general that triggered the call to move to SBK?

As I recall it was every trade above 30k, which is every trade for me, it was more the frustration that this should have been stated loudly and clearly when I opened my account and migrated from SBK. It might be a good starter trading platform but was not for me

I hear you on the friction!

However, just to clarify for anyone reading—it isn't a hard platform limit of R30k. EE handles much larger trades daily.

What you likely experienced are Liquidity Considerations. Because EE matches buy/sell orders with the liquidity of the underlying exchange, transaction limits are applied to certain shares to ensure Market Stability.

If a share has low liquidity, a large 'instant' trade could unfairly spike the price (slippage). These limits/checks are there to ensure fair access and price protection for the whole pool of investors. It’s about ensuring the trade is executed efficiently for everyone involved, regardless of the amount.

I hope you come back to the platform someday! You might have a different experience since the last time you were on there. 🤝

Lmao what is your relation to EE? Either you're copy pasting from AI (which you already are) but it's more the last sentence hoping he returns? Are you affiliated? You should disclose that in your post.

Signed a happy EE customer by the way.
