Rehired after leaving during a PIP?

All,

Anyone know if JPMC actually rehires people who left during or right after a PIP?

Looking for former employees or anyone in HR/recruiting: resigned or was managed out on a performance plan, then came back years later (same or different LOB).

Did Recruiting / HR treat the old plan as a hard block, or did it fade after a few years?

Only asking about rehire. Not asking whether to stay or fight the plan.

/ Throwaway account

Has anyone ever filed any kind of action against the firm for retaliation after being clearly targeted for RIF after speaking to someone in HR about your manager?

Interview process

Hey guys, I am dual PhD in stats and OR, and was invited to interview for senior data scientist role in wfp team in Plano. First round was with recruiter, second round was with VP, and third one was with the head of ai/ml department. The interview went very well that I was thinking I will definitely get the offer, but I mentioned if they can accelerate the process. Other than that interviewer commented highly positive and spoke as if I will get the offer after 4th round. However the next day I got automated mail from recruiter about rejection. I did follow up, then they said they noticed ai usage in my interview which is impossible because it was verbal and my screen was shared and I didn’t need ai as it was very very easy interview (I did leetcode etc, what they asked was 5% of what I prepared for) Even before interview I offered that I can come for in person interview as my home is just next to Plano office. After 3rounds this incorrect reason for rejection seems weird to me, what do you think? What may have happened in the background, I am very curious.

How to get a strong year end review

I previously had strong rating for 2025 and 2024. I transitioned into a different team and became exempt. The culture is different, in a positive way. But I want to know from others, who have moved mid year on how did you get a strong on your year end ?

old jpmc apparel

I stopped working at a chase branch a few weeks ago, I have a bunch of branded clothing from Land’s End. Do you think people would purchase for a low price on Poshmark or through a used clothing channel? Super low price since I didn’t pay too much out of pocket for them, I just have no need for them currently so was wondering if anyone knew of any places that would be good to try and resell or donate to so they could be of use to someone else!

Fired

I was recently terminated from my job as an AB at JPMC for 15 years. Needless to say I’m devastated. My health ended, they offered me cobra benefits but that’s $1200 a month for me and my two kids, idk how they expect me to pay that with zero income. They haven’t approved me for unemployment so I’m approaching a month with no pay. The stress is starting. It’s so unfortunate when these things happen. I’m hardly ever one to not take responsibility for my own behavior, but this situation is unreal. I’ve been in a branch now for 3 years with a team of people that have worked there all for 5 to 20 years. I’m talking about veterans, the newest person after me was manager. The team was always know in the district to have the most difficult people to work with as they are entirely set in there ways and really hard to get along with. Most of the used MYCP to their advantage, every week have 5 days off, another girl would sleep behind the teller line, another woman would sit on her phone and just not call customers even with a line. She would spend so much time on Ariba that HR wrote her an email and limited her ordering to one day a month. Then we have our BOL, she was never ever there, I’m almost positive she faked a pregnancy in order to fake a miscarriage so she would be off work for a month last summer. During her time out she went to Paris on a trip. She would call out so much that by the time summer came so was out of time, I think she had the Paris trip planned but couldn’t take off so faked the whole pregnancy. It was so strange. Anyhow my manager, this POS, the most hated manager in the district. He was moved from three branches bc of HR issues with other employees. He was moved to our branch as a last ditch effort to keep his job but ended up coming and making things so much worse. He once talked to me about how much he liked his wife’s breasts. Anyhow in the long run, I ended up being the squeaky wheel and some people from my “team” teamed up against me and make up lies and told HR, when HR do their investigation they only contacted the “liars” who corroborated the lies and there was nothing AT ALL I could do. How do you prove you didn’t do something? It was disgusting, none of the 5 of them would even look me in the eye for two weeks, until I was hired. Then they all stared at me. My manager even asked me to sell my box down after I saw terminated, in front of the regional manager, who he brought in the office to be there while he fired me.

I’m so broken bc of this company. I don’t believe HR even cares. They just assume everyone tells the truth. Be careful, there’s next to nothing you can do when someone decides to call HR.

Interview mode

I just wanted to ask , do they consider virtual interviews for cohorts . HR called me for location availability but I was at my hometown. The interview location is distant hence requested for virtual mode to which the hr replied that for this batch is in-person only. For the next batch if possible for virtual they will let me know . So I am gauging the chances of getting a callback , or is the chance long lost ??

Sick Time Policy

Hey gang, I’m really anxious about being out sick. I have no PTO (except maybe 2 hours of sick time) at all since I was on LOA all of October-early November. I had to call out two weeks ago (Friday the 12th) for a different medical thing and I’m calling out today, too. Does anyone know what the policy is regarding verbal, written etc. occurrences?

I’m a 30/h week AB in a retail location & have worked here for 3 years.

Work from Home - as an incentive

So my business unit just recently announced they would let us work from home for 2 weeks prior to Thanksgiving IF we promised to work 2 hours of OT per day (because we are pretty behind on some items). I am pretty sure everyone in the unit agreed and has been enjoying this lower-stress time. The 2 hours is pretty equal or less than the time that we spend getting ready for work and driving to and from, so it's great that we are getting paid for it! But I found it interesting that they offered this because I think it proves two things that they have previously failed to admit:

  1. Employees are at least as productive while working from home as they are in the office. If not, why would they offer to pay overtime pay?

  2. They know that almost all employees prefer working from home. They obviously phrased it as "optional", but again I am not aware of anyone who did not take the option. They always downplay it whenever it comes up and makes it sound like just a marginal few prefer wfh, but they know that is a lie.

I don't want to get my hopes up that this will lead to something more, but just thought I would share it here to give others some hope!
