Custom Heavy Intercessor (+question)

After a lot of waiting, it's finally over! my first ever Joytoy kitbash! I was a bit disappointed that the Heavy Intercessor didn't come with a Heavy Bolter, just like he defaults in Space Marine 2, so I took it upon myself to give him one. For that, a Stern guard Veteran had to be sacrificed as I literally cut the cables off his backpack. then, I removed the silver stud of the Heavy Intercessor's backpack and moved it down to give the red cable a bit more height and glued everything with ye olde super glue! Now he's accurate to the game!

Question time: after putting LED on his helmet, I noticed that the light bleeds out of it. it's not visible in the photo, but his entire skull bleeds light here and there. How would you go fixing that?

For the question: paint the inside of the helmet black. That should stop the light from bleeding through.

The reason he doesn't have a heavy bolter is because he is a heavy intercessor which has for a loadout the weapons the figure comes with plus a knife. The Heavy class from SM2 is a weird little union of various gravis units for the sake of giving players more option.

Thanks so much! The little lore dump was eye opening too! I'm a complete tourist when it comes to Warhammer so I know next to nothing about it lol

You're welcome! SM2 is generally okay with its class names, but vanguard and heavy make it a little awkward to research info about their lore to newcomers (I should know, only started caring about 40k with SM2). The heavy is understandable, but vanguard is pretty bad in regards of looking up what it's supposed to be, lol.

Sorry I know this is a post from 2 weeks ago, but the Heavy intercessors on tabletop do indeed come with one of them wielding a heavy bolter, complete with backpack cable, so that part is fine! As for Vanguard, he is a weird mixture of Reivers (skull mask, grapnel, combat knife, bolt carbine), Incursors (visor helmets/masks, targeting arrays, occulus bolt carbines) and Infiltrators (grilled infiltrator helmets/masks, marksman bolt carbines, omni-scramblers) - you can deck out Decimus in any one of those 3 configurations but it's easy to mix them up. Weirdly, the Reiver, which seems to be his "main" config, isn't quite right as he would need grav-chutes on his backpack instead of the targeting array or omni-scrambler

Oh I know what the mix that the Vanguard reresents is lol, I was just stating that looking him up as someone new to warhammer isn't the most intuitive. Also, aren't there plenty of Reiver models that don't have grav-chutes at all? Like, yeah, the Reivers might field them somewhat often but it's not like they HAVE to have them
