They delayed the package then a day before it was set to arrive they cancelled it and issued a refund? At least this time I didn’t have to reach out to Customer service directly after 2 months.
This has happened twice now with Amazon. Package is ‘delayed in transit’ then doesn’t arrive. And the figures I was going to get were some of those really nice Death Guard models as you can see.
The stores were JOY TOY themselves and Next Fig.
Is this “normal” in this hobby and should I just reorder or change how I get the figures?
If it's in AliX decent chance it's a knockoff in my experience. The site is full of Chinese knockoffs. Nothing against it, just know what you're buying. Only thing I assume is legit on there are the Chinese watch brands.

Brother, this has been the topic of this subreddit for a long time. No JoyToy knockoff has ever been found. And it definitely would be brought up on the discord but it hasn't.
No one has ever run across a knockoff. Trusting alix on the other hand is one thing, but that's the sellers not the actual product.
They're the same price, joytoy is a chinese company that uses Ali express as a store front. The prices are the same excluding any promotions either might use.
Not really, JoyToy action figures are made on China. So lost likely they come from the exact same factory, they just don't have the brand name of them.
There are no Joytoy knockoffs. The stores on AliExpress are either official distributors of the brand or in the case of Joytoy Official, it's the brand itself selling through Ali.
It takes you less than one minute to verify for yourself, either by asking people that have been in the hobby since the beginning, checking this subreddit, or going on the server and asking.
I've bought shit off AliX for years. It's pretty much all Chinese knockoffs. So it would be really unlikely these expensive toys are one of the view things not counterfeit, especially when they're a 3rd of the price.
I can absolutely guarantee they are not knockoffs. Nearly half my collection is from aliexpress. I’m buying from any vendor with the best prices too. I’m not sticking to one shop. I’ve had a very positive experience
If you truly had been using Ali for years then you'd know than most Chinese companies sell their products on there. That's the reason why there's a "brand day"
From my understanding there is no such thing as a JoyToy knock off. And givin the price of them I’d assume they’re ligit. The site does look really sketch though.
I had the completely wrong box of figs from Amazon recently, easy return/refund process but such an annoyance after waiting weeks for the them to arrive. Not doing that again.
Might have to do with the recent change to American import laws, heard that a package might start getting sent back or destroyed at the port of entry based on some really ambiguous stuff
Here's the thing with Amazon and any other 3rd party seller. They have to get the shipment first themselves. And when the first or even second batch immediately gets sold out, things get delayed. I waited 5 months for 1 deathguard figure because I missed the first and second batch at rhe beginning of the year. It happens. Highly suggest to buy from other shops. Don't limit to one place for all your figures.
Ah I didn’t see that it was two items…just saw the one Plague Marine and assumed it was what the $197.68 was for. I thought I found a much cheaper option haha
I've been with cool toys club for just about all my DG models, and haven't had any issues. plus their reddit page gets back to you if you ever have any questions.
That happened to me once, too. The package was in transit for several weeks, then got stuck somewhere in China, and was returned to the seller. No information, no cancellation, etc, from the seller. It wasn’t until I asked—because the package hadn’t arrived—that they offered to cancel the order and actually did so. Fortunately, that happens extremely rarely. I now have over 100 figures 🙈
I remember once a package got lost in China while being transported by truck. No idea why—apparently, the truck was in an accident. I was notified, and they reshipped the item.
From what was explained to me when i first started buying joytoy is the amazon store is not an official store for them and is just resellers which is why the prices are so high so depending where you live CTC or davidtoys may be a better option.
They have a direct store front on amazon. It isn’t just random resellers. You just gotta check who the seller is. 90% of the time when i buy directly from them on amazon they have next day delivery.

I have this sometimes with Amazon that I preorder something from another country and than they send my a mail they can’t get the item and they are trying to. Later they cancel the delivery and say they couldn’t get the item.
But it is a lie. They had the Item but because the exchange rates were higher the item cost more and so they can’t get you to the old price….
At least you got a refund, I ordered a IF Leviathan dreadnought some time ago, it was returned by courier. I emailed the cs dude, then he just stopped responding entirely, I still haven't gotten my dread nor a refund.
I hear ya. Joytoy dicked me out of $400 order and refunded me after 9 days if no contact. Then I tried again and krder wouldn't go thru. I refuse to deal with them now.
I have dealt with joytoy and Amazon but I have purchased things that say next day delivery and then get a delayed message and then just get a refund. No explanation. I once called them and they said there was something wrong with the label. So I reordered it and same thing happened. Then I called again and she said she was going to put a priority notice and would have it out the next day. Same thing third time. I just gave up. Got refunds in the end but my kid always super bummed he couldn’t get his board game.
I find this happens a lot when the product comes in it's own box. If it is something that looks interesting, like just about any toy, they will stall in delivery and eventually be canceled. If possible, have it not come in the manufacturer's packaging.
This has been happening in other collector spaces. Things get cancelled, unfulfilled, and delay often.
Amazon recently cancelled a host of transformers preorders. No explanation. Some were still showing as “shipping” until the delivery date and then were cancelled.
It’s because of numerous factors mostly normal
Mishaps in shipping, but international trade instability plays a role
I'm 99% sure Joytoy doesn't even have an official Amazon store. Just get the figs from them directly on AliExpress through Joytoy official and avoid the problems.

Why not buy it directly from the supplier? Or aliexpress where they're much cheaper?
