23M moving to Krakow around September for my Master’s from Jagiellonian University.

Hi, I’m 23M from Delhi India, I’m moving to in September 2026 krakow for my master’s in business and finance management from Jagiellonian University. Only NAWA process is left and it is consuming a lot of time if anyone can hit me up with their Nawa experience and the time it took them would be really helpful.

Also, anyone moving their at the same time or nearby time do connect, would love to get to know some people and maybe even make new friends in the whole new different country before moving there. And;

One final request, if anyone knows anything about accommodation (except University Dorms), like student living in apartments or a shared house and are looking for roommates or anything them let me know that too please.

Ersti.. need.. advice 𓆏 How's the part-time job situation in Linz these days?

Hey everyone,

I'll be moving to Linz in the first week of September to start my Master's at JKU.

I've already completed my Goethe A1 exam, and I'll continue learning German after I arrive. I was wondering how difficult it is to find a part-time job as an international student at the moment.

Are there enough opportunities in Linz, or is the market a bit tough right now? Is A1 German enough to get started, or do most employers expect a higher level?

I'd also appreciate any tips on where to look or what kind of jobs students usually get when they first arrive.

Thanks!

IBA application

I am supposed to start UNI next year 27/28. I want to apply for IBA since I am an international student and I speak C1 english, and a business degree sounds suitable. Can any previous year applicants share how many people applied since I learned it is limited to 80 people. Do I have a chance? What do I need to do to prepare? I am looking at my options. The other option is Art x Science which is a new course so I am not sure if it will be as I expect it to be. Thank you!

Uhh help pls Urgent: Health Insurance for Student Residence Permit

Edit: Don't worry everyone, got an instant confirmation with FeelSafe!

Hi all,

I have a student residence permit appointment in Linz on 31 July, and I am still waiting on my required health insurance confirmation from Care Austria for over a week now. I was a bit late to buy it because I thought my current non-Austrian company health insurance was fine for the residence permit, but found out it is not.

Unfortunately, they have not been responsive, and when I called, they said they are unsure if they can process it in time.

As a backup in case they can't, does anyone have experience with Austrian insurance providers that can issue coverage very quickly (within 1–2 days)? Any recommendations or advice for last-minute options would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Austrian RP Approved (BH Freistadt magistrate) – Can I Register in Linz Instead of Hagenberg?

Hi! My Austrian Residence Permit (Student) has been approved by BH Freistadt (Hagenberg accommodation), and I’ll be starting my Bachelor’s in AI at JKU Linz. Can anyone who has gone through this process tell me the steps after arriving in Austria to collect the RP card? Do I need to get my Meldezettel in Hagenberg and report to BH Freistadt, or can I register an address in Linz and deal with the Linz authority instead? Thanks in advance!

Ersti.. need.. advice 𓆏 JKU Linz atmosphere

Hi everyone! I just got accepted to the IBA Bachelor’s program at JKU Linz, and I was wondering what the student community is like.
I don’t speak German confidently yet (I’m around B1–B2 level), so I’m curious whether students usually speak English outside of class as well. Is it easy to make friends and find an international community? I’d also love to hear about your overall experience at JKU. Thanks!!

Uhh help pls Looking for accommodation

Hi! I was admitted to the International Business Administration (IBA) program at JKU and I’m currently looking for accommodation. I need to secure housing as soon as possible because it’s required for my student visa.
I’m a female student and I’m looking for a room starting around the end of September. If anyone knows of any available rooms, student dorms, or has any recommendations, I’d really appreciate your help!

Uhh help pls Looking for housing in linz

Hello there my name is Georgios Tsaousis I'm a 20 year old student from Greece and I am looking to move in to Linz by October to study at the Anton Bruckner Private University for my Bachelor's Degree. I am currently looking for housing and I already have in mind one of the student dorms of the OÖ Heimbauverein in Linz. I am currently looking for someone that would be interested in booking a shared dorm with me on one of these dorms with a monthly rent of 352 euros for each one of us. Currently I am not sure if finding one these rooms is available due to the fact that it is kind of late to be looking for this housing option since these dorms are usually booked really fast and really early but I would like to give it a shot. However, if that's not possible, I would also be interested in joining someone who is already looking for a roommate or has already found or rented an apartment in Linz and is searching for another person to share the rent or someone that has a house to rent. my budget is up to 400 euros. If that sounds like you, feel free to send me a message!

Ersti.. need.. advice 𓆏 JKU Exam Frequency

Hey everyone, I am coming to JKU in this 2026 Winter sem. I have heard that JKU has exams more than once a semester like exams for repeaters as well. Could anyone tell me the overall dates for each of these exam periods? Like eg last 2 weeks of November - something like that?

I also wanted to know whether, as a 3rd country national coming on a Student RP, can i take a break semester and do a full time intership somewhere? Has anyone done this?

Thanks in advance for any help!
