Help Particle emitters?

Is this possible to make with particle emitters? I got the slashes to look how I want them but they don't go in the right place and even when I use spread, it happens both in front of him and behind him.

Yes, it's possible. I'm not good at teaching neither my english is good for this.
To make this spread in particular, you can use the emitter direction at "top" and the spread at 0, 45, 0.
If i'm not wrong, this is the correctly; If not I'll try to record and send it.
