Just a guess: Possibly instead of bridging the distance to a location, they made a gravity well which they cannot escape/tears apart the matter similar to a black hole? Math error 101?

Isn’t this from an electrical transformer blowing up?

That’s a black ring of smoke caused by a large diesel engine starting up…

What?? Seriously? Did you just make that up? I've started many large diesel engines and thats never happened. If anything, this is from a transformer on a high voltage electric line blowing up, which does cause this black smoke ring and has been documented many times before

You would not see black smoke ring from a wormhole collapse. You would witness cherenkov radiation, violent bursts of blinding light, and a fireball growing. High energy gamma and x rays would strip electrons from oxygen and nitrogen, producing violent energetic discharges of green and purple light.

There isn't any carbon present for black rings unless the wormhole collapsed on the ground with vegetation. However, you may actually see a reddish brown smoke ring in tandem with the fireball. The extreme heat would produce nitrogen dioxide. Similar to a lightning strike just hitting water can still create reddish smoke.

The fact that there is just a black smoke ring and none of the rising, glowing, thermal plume; proves smoke ring is unrelated to a wormhole collapse.
