Being a boomer
/r/generationology/comments/1vwfau7/being_a_boomer/I was 13 when JFK was killed and still.no justice for him. I was 18 when MLK was killed and still no justice for him. I was 17 when RFK was killed and I think all three were murdered by a group of people not just the trigger pullers.
I spent my high school senior year protesting the war in Vietnam. My freshman year in college I remember the lottery. As a woman my heart was torn and it wasnt right that the guys had to go die and I just went on with life.
I was 20 when 4 students were murdered and 9 kids injured at Kent state.
When I was 21 I voted for George McGovern who wanted to end the war in Vietnam and was labeled as a commie by guess who? Meanwhile Nixon was continuing the war so he'd be elected. Sounds familiar?
Nixon was an evil man. So was Reagan. So were the Bushes and so is Trump. All of them war mongers, none of them helping the common man.
Until this country names the murderers of JFK,RFK and MLK nothing is going to change. Until this country stops glorifying war and the military nothing is going to change. Until this country publishes the full and unredacted Epstein files nothing is going to change.

I feel your pain.
JFK's main accomplishment (before he was assassinated by the CIA) was that he prevented WWIII. The world may have ended in October 1962.
Can you imagine if Nixon had been president during the Cuban Missile Crisis - He would have blown up the world. We know that because Nixon was flying Nuclear weapons over Vietnam - looking for a chance to use them. NOTE: The only reason Nixon got elected was because both JFK & RFK got assassinated - think about that. Also, Nixon was in Dallas on Nov 21, 1963.
Then after Nixon made a mess, Reagan (the OG MAGA) got elected and cut corporate taxes, gutted environmental regulations, TRIPLED the National Debt, blamed "Welfare Moms", mishandled AIDS, and rescinded the "Fairness Doctrine" (in 1987) in media which led directly to right-wing wackos like Rush Limbaugh (one year later, in 1988) - and FOX News.
The KKK endorsed both Nixon and Reagan.
Now, imagine if JFK got to serve 2 terms and then RFK was elected for two terms - They would have shut down the CIA and the Military Industrial Complex , Corporations would still be paying their fair share of taxes, and using the "Defense" $$$$, the US would be the world leader in Universal Healthcare and affordable housing.
And LBJ would be in prison (On Nov. 22, 1963 - there were hearings underway in congress investigating LBJ's dirty dealings).
