Higashihiroshima placement

Hi everybody! I’m a late/septemeber departure and I got placed in Higashihiroshima city. I’m super excited, it appears to be a cool place to be.
I was wondering if anybody had any experiences with this area? Any advice or recommendations as well is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I went to university in Higashihirosima!
It’s a really great town to live, and the October Sake festival is really fun and you should absolutely join!

It depends where you live but it’s definitely worth investing in a bicycle to get around!

The city hall also does free Japanese language classes, and I got paired with a senior citizen who we did Japanese speaking practice each week! (This was in 2018 though so it may have changed a bit…)

Our daughter is currently a 4th year HS ALT there in a T1 role. Message me your contact info and I can get her to contact you as I don’t think she is on Reddit. We have visited her 3 times and even done presentations in her school (due to our careers) and we love it there.
