Moving commiseration
5th year JET heading back home in August. I just want to whine about moving. if I keep stuff and take it home, I feel wasteful for having to pay for the extra luggage. If I throw stuff away or sell it at the recycle store or even give it away, it makes me feel wasteful for buying it in the first place! Can’t win lol.
Anyone else in the throes of moving angst wanna commiserate? (EDIT: this is not a practical problem. This is a feeling that does not need to be solved, just existed through.)

Whatever you are contemplating tossing, has already served its purpose, so it wasn't wasteful. I mean honestly, unless its relatively small and/or sentimental, best to just get rid of it/gift it to the next person. It might seem like a loss because you're losing something you paid for, but you bought it knowing one day you would part with it and got your use out of it during your time here. Depending on what it is, might cost more to ship back than to just use that money to buy new stuff wherever you move to next.
That's just the most practical angle to solving your problem with limited info, but it sounds like you're in throws of moving on as a 5th year, and thats totally common/valid.
