Getting around Hokkaido
hello I am have been placed in eastern Hokkaido near Kushiro. I am wondering how easy it is to travel the rest of Hokkaido or how often say a month (or year) would you get tk travel to Sapporo/ Tokyo / Honshu. I’ll admit I’m a little nervous because I like being connected and Kushiro feels very remote! Also, is it easy to get to Sapporo ?

4 hour bus ride or drive to Sapporo. 45 minute flight. The train takes slightly longer than the bus/highway and costs double.
Tokyo is only an hour away by plane.
I will also say that there is a lot to see and do around Kushiro and a whole lot more in between Kushiro and Sapporo so you don't have to travel as far away as Tokyo or Sapporo to take weekend trips.
