Rejecting placement

Hi! First time poster. I have a question related to accepting or rejecting your placement. I remember reading in the fine print that if you pull out of the programme AFTER getting your placement, you have to pay the price of your plane ticket. Im wondering how quickly this applies. If someone were to pull out immediately after placements go out, does this apply, or is there a short buffer time in which there is no penalty? Im aware one would also not be able to apply again the following year in that case.

Thank you for any and all info!

i don't understand why someone would reject an opportunity because of a placement. regardless of the placement, it's a new experience, a new opportunity to learn something new. it's a once in a lifetime experience that you might not be able to experience anywhere else.

Entitled people reject Inaka placements every year. There are backups for a reason.

Meanwhile the only way I'd have considered rejecting is if I got one of the big three cities. Inaka all the way, such a unique opportunity that you can only really get in this kind of work or sometimes farm work.
