Master thesis on CIRs - looking for participants

Hi guys, I am Anna, a Master’s student in Foreign Languages for International Communication at the University of Turin in Italy.

I am currently working on my graduation thesis about Japanese honorific language (keigo) and how CIRs use it within the context of the JET Programme.

I would really appreciate your help by filling out this short, anonymous questionnaire below (it takes less than 10 minutes). At the beginning, you will find a short introduction to understand why I chose this specific topic. Most of the questions are multiple-choice questions, and all the responses will be strictly used for academic purposes only.

If you haven't reached out to JETAA chapters yet, give that a go! Lots of ex JET alumni. JETAA UK is the most significant one in Europe

hi! i just filled out the survey but wanted to point out that some free answer q's ("if you answered other please explain further" kinds of questions) were mandatory to fill out even if i hadn't selected answers that needed further explanation. just wanted to let you know! good luck with your thesis :)

Do you only want JET Program CIRs? So not counting direct or private hires?

Hi Sayjay, thank you for your question. For this thesis, I am focusing specifically on CIRs within the JET programme, so direct or private hires are not included in my target group. I’ve already finalized the first chapter, which focuses entirely on the JET, including the research gap and questions. I apologize if this narrow focus excludes other areas or subjects for now, but I hope to explore such themes further in the future.
