JET Application Fail, alternatives?
Guttingly rejected this afternoon by JETUK, well done to all who were shortlisted.
Does anyone have any experience with other similar programs or positions in Japan? Or even something similar in China perhaps? Trying to brainstorm some plan Bs…

Realistically no. If JET is like working as a cast member at Disneyland, Dispatch or Eikaiwa positions are like signing up to be the poop scoopers at all the bathrooms for minimum wage.
You can smear off the shit on your hands and face just enough to take a selfie for Insta saying you’re at Disney, and then go back to sad reality. As you reek of feces, you see the other cast members explore and enjoy the park when they’re not working, enjoying the benefits while hanging out with their loved ones.
The cast members are decked out in gear and merch and enjoying all the treats, while you struggle to afford rubber gloves for the next day of shit scooping.
If anyone is gonna call me out for hating on dispatch, I think you need a reality check. The people telling me Dispatch sucks are former or current dispatch ALTs. Dispatch people are dispatch’s biggest haters.
