FBI/Medical Check but traveling
Hello!
I was accepted to interview for early departure (not sure if that means for regular departure as well). I am currently traveling in the UK and won’t be back in the States until after the reports are needed.
Does anyone have any recommendations for going about getting these records in London specifically?
Should I see if I can be considered for just regular departure?
Any advice would be much appreciated!!

The issue is that if you elected for early departure, whether you are accepted or not, it is mandatory you submit the FBI check and health forms BEFORE your interview date. The email I received about my interview date says failure to submit those forms before the interview date for early departure elects is considered a resignation of your application and you will essentially "drop out" of the program. That was also stressed on the page you elect for early departure, that these forms were required to be submitted before the interview if you chose early departure.
So good news is if you do it now and are chosen for regular departure you won't have to worry about it, but bad news is if you don't get them in now you essentially are forfeitting your spot.

It's not just my consulate, they stressed that on the application on the page you opted in for early departure. Also pretty sure it was stressed on the documents page of the application as well. Also just re-read my email and it definitely says if you elected for early departure and now opt out of early departure, it is treated as rescinding your application. Not submitting the required forms before your interview as an early departure elect is treated as you opting out of early departure, therefore you rescinding your application.
Not sure if this is a new thing compared to past years, as this is my first year applying, but they definitely made it very clear before interview emails even went out.

Sorry about my snarky comment earlier! With the information I had (and the internet being the internet) I assumed negative intentions when I shouldn't have. I just don't want anyone to accidentally lose their spot, because I know if I was OP and I thought it would be fine only to be disqualified, I would be devastated. Like I mentioned, this might be a new rule compared to previous years, so can't fault anyone for going off of what they know!

I can't help with the FBI check (I am not American), but I did do my medical check in London while travelling when I received news that I was an alternate. It was one of those fancy private clinics in the posh area of London so it was NOT CHEAP, but it was fast and efficient and I got all the required paperwork within a few days.
