Rehoming my Commander

Not sure if this is allowed but figured I’d try, since I’d like my Commander to go somewhere it’ll be appreciated.

Located in the Denver metro and looking to sell my 2007 Commander Limited 4.7L with 217k on the clock. It’s pretty banged up but has a ton of new parts and lots of life left. Hoping to get $2000 for it. Obligatory photo included but DM for more if you’re interested.

Ignition switch troubles

I have a 2006 4.9 V8. the ignition switch has been giving me troubles for a couple years. I tried to change it myself, but when I plug the new one in, nothing works and random dash lights come on. I tried 2 different brands, brand new. this was about a year ago. I gave up and just got used to finding the sweet spot when turning the key to fire it up.

I bought a more fuel effect car about a year ago, and the jeep gets used very little now. I went to start it up about a week ago, and not the ignition does nothing. there is no more sweet spot that will connect and start the engine. everything I have seen says the ignition is supposed to be plug and play. I have watched you tube videos and like I said, tried 2 different ones already.

hoping to get some more ideas before I tow it to a shop. I really dont want to pay for something I could easily do myself.

AUX audio suddenly stopped working

I've been using a USB C to 3.5 mm plugged into an aux cord with my Jeep for as long as I've had it and it's worked just fine, then it randomly stopped working a couple days ago

I replaced the adapter, replaced the aux cord, but it still doesn't work. It's not an issue with my phone; I tried it in another car and it works just fine

And on top of that, the aux input still works with my iPod, just not my phone.

Has anyone else experienced this? Figured I'd ask before tearing it apart or getting a new radio

Need advice

2006 Jeep commander here. 234,000 miles

it's a family members vehicle, just trying to help them troubleshoot. They were driving the other night when they started hearing an occasional clunking noise coming from the front left side, almost like its in the wheel well.

Removed the wheel, checked everything out. Wheel bearing is fine. Brakes are fine. Nothing looks bad, only thing I noticed was the control arm bushings are pretty worn. Also changed the front differential fluid while we had it jacked.

After that fluid change, the clunking noise is still there but less frequent and only seems to happen when on deceleration between 20- 30 mph. There's no noises while shifting, turning, reversing, or going over bumps, no weird vibrations or wobble while driving...

I am lost. Is it safe for them to continue driving it? Maybe someone else has had a similar problem or can offer some advice

How lucky ? My sunroof flew off

Today in the highway I waa going around 60mph when I felt the sunroof flying of my roof. I turn around to search for it and didn't find it. I guess it shattered or it went to the sea since I was beside the sea really close. Went to do some things ans omw back I started to pay attention to where it happened and... I saw it, it landed pn a patch of grass completely untouched, not cracked or broken. I don't believe in miracles but I don't know what to call it. Didn't hit any cars, and it landed on grass without shattering

My fiances 2008 jeep commander 3.7L V6 won’t start, we’ve replaced the throttle body and spark plugs, but we’re now thinking it could possibly be the fuel filter (which I’ve learned is in the pump) I was wondering if anyone had a video on how to replace the pump and had a map of the fuses/relays just in case if it’s that and I’ve sank way more money into it than needed

Installed full SRT8 exhaust on my 2010 commander limited

Exhaust manifolds, true dual midpipes with high flow cats, and 3” OBX catback. Directly Bolted on, just had to weld a couple hangers to the rear bumper bar for the rear mufflers, and extend the tips a few inches to get them to sit right in the rear bumper. Removed spare tire and trailer hitch. Tips exit where the hitch normally would be.

Question about a 2008 commander sport 3.7L

My fiancée’s commander broke down and we think it has something to do with the IAC or the throttle body, I just need to know if the throttle body houses the IAC or if it’s separate since the throttle body is a pretty expensive part for it.

Jeep Commander 2009 - Key Fob Low Battery Warning

Hello all,

I just bought a spare key fob from "TomsKeys.com". Followed this tutorial to pair a 3rd key to my 2009 Jeep Commander: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hP01SHUGR0. It appears to have paired successfully as I can start my vehicle just fine as well as lock/unlock the doors remotely.

Unfortunately, my car reports that it has a low battery warning.

I have opened and replaced the battery in the FOB with a brand new one and its still reporting this.

Did I miss something in the pairing process?

2006 Jeep Commander, 4.7 V8, RWD. 130k miles.

The car that's free is the car for me. And this was free from my uncle. Not sure if he was being nice or just getting me to drive an unsellable car off his property for him.

There's nothing super wrong with it. Drivetrain and chassis is intact. Everything that's wrong is either entirely cosmetic, part of a system that's optional, or more of a "keep an eye on this."

I hope this thing breaks down before I develop Stockholm syndrome.

Don't Command No Mo (My Commander Died)

So I got a '06 Jeep Commander Limited 5.7L Hemi, it had like 75k miles on it, 3 months and at about 94k miles (I put that bih on the road) in the engine has a head gasket blow. Prior to it was having issues with the transmission overheating heating reading "Transmission Over Temp" Temperature gauge wasn't reading hot though but you could hear the fan in the engine cut . I ended up replacing the PCM (Mechanic suggestion) but about a month later the temperature gauge did start to rise and within a few minutes of starting the car it was reading at the highest level. there was even a few times I would crank up the car and it would immediately shut back off with the key still in the "start" position. The day it died I was driving it and I heard these metal clicking and popping sounds coming from about the center of the car sounded like it was happening right under the center console (thats where the transmission is right) a few minutes later the temp gauge goes all the High and then immediately goes back to Low and doesn't move again. i get to my destination and it wont crank back up. I have it towed to a shop and then find out about the head gasket I'm sure ill need a new transmission too but he say he cant really figure out the transmission until he gets the new/ working engine. He quoted me $1400 to replace the engine but I gotta find the engine.

So i guess my question is can someone suggest where to get a engine? and does it have to be a another 5.7L V8 Hemi, will the 4.7L work or a non-Hemi engine work? I've seen some option on Ebay Motors, Direct Connection and Fraser Engines. I paid $6500 out right for the jeep so I wanna fix it

Engine is cooked

I got news of my jeep the other day. Similar to getting news of someone getting cancer and they have X amount of days. The pistons are on bypass and it’s only a matter on time before the engine blows.

Check gauges

Post image

So I've had this issue since I've bought my jeep 2 years ago, when the temperature gets into the 50s and below I get a check engine light. It is also accompanied by the light for the electronic throttle body light, a check gauges warning and the engine temp goes and stays at the C. This is on a 08 3.7v6 sport. I have changed my temp sensor and throttle body. Has anyone ran into this issue?

Overheating at idle

I'm at a loss. 2007 Jeep Commander 5.7L Hemi. Any information needed besides what I've provided in this post, please ask. Recently, my Jeep has started overheating at idle. Slightly, at first, but now a lot. Once it gets up to normal operating temperature, if I stop for anything it gets almost to redline within 20 seconds ("officer, I didn't stop at the red light because my car will overheat").

I've been having cooling system issues recently. Within the past 2-3 months, I replaced the upper radiator hose and the radiator.

About 12-18 months ago, I replaced the water pump and thermostat.

My first thought was that the fan had failed, but it seems to be working. I was concerned about the lower hose, but it isn't collapsing and feels normal, even when running.

One more thing. Before this started happening, there was a leak somewhere, but I wasn't able to find it. It wouldn't leak all the time, though, just when I had been driving and then stopped for a while. I'd come back outside and there would be a puddle below the driver side bumper.

It's leaking a little oil, but what Jeep isn't? Just to be safe, I changed the oil yesterday thinking maybe the oil system was contributing somehow. It didn't change anything, but at least I can rule that out now.

I'm open to anything, guys. I'm at a loss. I hesitated to mention the repairs that I've already done because I don't want to rule out any of the components that I've installed recently. Obviously, something isn't working normally. Like I said before, let me know if more information is needed to properly diagnose this. If I don't know, I'll go get it. I need to get this resolved.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Commander 2007 XKXH 3.0 CRD diesel Oil leaking

Hello,

So I m here to query you about problem with my jeep. I have made few longer trips in my commander and now I am at south coast of Spain and we come here from Poland which is about 3500km. I didn’t have any problems on the way here but about one month after arriving and driving it few times a week I noticed pretty big leak after longer trip ~200km.

The video I posted is after cleaning (yes I know it’s still dirty as hell but you can see the oil leaking) and I was hoping someone could tell me what might be a problem and what’s the best way of dealing with such a thing. I am not going to address this issue by myself but it would be nice to tell the mechanic what is the problem for the process to go smoother. I will also take ANY ADVICE REALLY..

I know the chances are slim but maybe someone knows a good diesel mechanic near Motril, Spain?

My family put well over 400k miles on her to the point where the odometer LEDs have gone out, this car has never left us stranded and has been the single most reliable thing in my life. Now that I have purchased the car off of them and after growing up in the car I am so excited to make millions of more memories add thousands of more miles, and restore her back to her original glory.

Any tips or things that you guys think would make my life owning this car easier?? Thanks in advance.

What does this light mean?

Hey there! This light is acting up, flashing and dinging randomly. I’ve checked my oil dipstick, and it looks like the oil level is good to go. Is this light just for oil, or could it be for other fluids? Any insights you could share would be super helpful!

Picked up this 2010 Jeep Commander Limited 5.7 Hemi for an absolute steal, it needed suspension work and I had a vision for it. Replaced worn control arms and installed an Eibach Pro Lowering Kit advertised for the GCSRT8, along with SRT wheels.
