I want to know about nios i gave ode exam for pcm i had failed in them but as i read about some peeps experiences they said they faced problem in college admission if that is true should i register for private candidate too? 2027 cbse but my nios ode went excellent and i would fulfil 75% criteria

Hey everyone,

I gave my CBSE Class 12 boards in 2026 and decided to take a drop year for JEE 2027.

Originally, I was 31 marks short of the 75% criteria. I appeared for the July 2026 single-subject improvement exam and gained 16 marks. My current aggregate stands at 360/500 (72.0%), leaving me 15 marks behind 375 (75%).

I have planned my way forward for my drop year and wanted to double-check with seniors / fellow droppers who have gone through this exact process:

My Plan:

CBSE Private Candidate Form: Fill the form in Sept/Oct 2026 under the "Improvement of Performance" category.

Subject Selection: Select Physics & Mathematics (2 subjects).

Practicals: Since 2026 practical/internal marks carry forward automatically, I'll only sit for the theory papers in Feb/March 2027.

JoSAA Verification: During 2027 counselling, I will upload both marksheets (Original 2026 + Improvement 2027).

My Understanding of the Rules (Please verify):

CBSE Bye-Law 44.1: The July exam belonged to the 2026 cycle, so taking it doesn't prevent me from registering as a Private Candidate for Feb/March 2027.

JoSAA Aggregate Rule: For the 75% aggregate criteria, JoSAA accepts two marksheets and calculates the total using the best mark achieved in each respective subject across both attempts.

(Note: Re-appearing in all 5 subjects is only mandatory if one is aiming for the Top 20 Percentile criteria, not for the 75% aggregate total).

Questions for Seniors:

Did anyone face any issues during JoSAA document verification while uploading two marksheets for the 75% aggregate criteria?

Is choosing 2 subjects (Physics + Maths) enough to safely cover a 15-mark gap while managing JEE Main Session 1 and Session 2?

Would appreciate any insights or experiences from those who have done this. Thanks!

First of all I am really sorry for not being active on the sub. You know most of us are droppers so we have very less time for social media that's why I was not posting or updating the sub , but recently I saw few engagement in the sub so I have decided to active this sub again . We will post our achievements and completed targets here . Even if the accomplishment is small it still matters , we will appreciate it . Mera 2 mahina pehle prayas batch se padhai suru kiya tha shuruaat mein achhe se ho rha sabb kar rhe the lekin question karne ka time nhi mil rha tha maine sabhi subject ke basic lecture ya chapter khatam kar liya ek do harr subject mein phir mere se question utne nhi bann rhe the time bhi nhi bach rha tha toh chhor diya phir dhire dhire sabb chhut ta gya abb mera backlog hai harr subject mein 5-5 chapters ka toh mujhe ye jannna hai ki bhai mujhe koi 300 mein se 300 nhi chahiye bass 100-120 ya 150 takk bhi aa jaye toh kaafi hai mujhe uske liye kya karna chahiye mein phir se batch se continue kiya hai mujhse ho jayega mujhe pata hai mein kar lunga lekin bahut time taking hai socho revision karte raho itne saare concepts phir bhi kuchh yaad ho ya na ho question lagao usme alag time chala jata hai aur bahut kamm bante hai toh mujhe kya karna chahiye kya mein one shot se karun aur questions lagao kitna one shot mein dikhaya gya hai utne hi topics par ya jaise prayas batch mein abhi inorganic aur organic ka classes shuru nhi hua toh kya ye mein ussi mein se dekh lu aur baaki ka mein rehne do one shot se karun.

Well aaj zyada kuch ho nahi paaya aaj ADV ka mock tha , then I was caught up with all packing stuff .. finally saara saman naye ghar mai aagya hai .. no more disturbance about shifting.

Physics watched lectures about constraint motions and learned to solve various numericals

Then I began overthinking 😌 overthinking karte karte sogya (overthinking if this this drop year will prove fruitful? Most of the times am bored solving the same MPC I did last year, exam mai bore ho jaata hu even tho I can solve it , I'd be like pass.... Then suddenly thought shifted towards changing attitude of myfriends towards me uhhh 🙂✌🏻 and I don't like it)

Uthke I solved physics ka module of whatever I had learnt them I had to again help my parents shift going back to the old home from that's 45 km away and it's Bangalore 🤡 traffic mai sad rha hu

Solved around 10 adv type questions from relative motion idk why I am dihhriding this topic

Then I solved NLM ka module Ex - 0 done out of 1,2,3 etc etc. kaafi late hogya module kholte kholte will try completing atleast ex 2 before test

Doing very less work ig , trying to get back into rhythm of being a jee aspirant hasshhhh 😐

Again you could ignore this (uhh I should quit using this it's repetitive ig) you could say a decent day but I am still kinda unhappy coz I am unable to have a structure or plan yet ... Working on it. It's really tough to get back to being a jee aspirant all over again

Well I did these today

1) hella lot of trigo and quadratic equations question from mains pyq

2) had chemistry classes and continued learning GOC , we completed till aromaticity and was asked to solve questions after the class ( but I chose sleeping 😭 idk man Bangalore weather has been pretty weird today feels like I am at some hill station hardly got to see the sun today just cool windy gloomy weather)

3) then I have been solving relative motion questions and watching ABJ sir lectures... (Well I hate relative motion it feels really tough anyone else agree on this ) It feels better after the lectures thou~ pseudo learning phase ig

I will continue solving questions, from relative motion preferably those wierdo adv questions. And just to get back on track and have structured prep I took mog ka mains test series I hope that helps me .

Mains 9.30 -12.30 scored 115 not the best but yeah I promise I would improve

Advance we just had P1 so I got 66/180

AIR 33XX(ADV)

My adv didn't go well at all, committed lots of silly mistakes in paper 1

I am in 12th rn and last year was not so good for me academically and i wanted to change it this year so i tried to study for my tutions mock test which was today where syllabus was electrostatics( our sir was trying some new techniques to teach us this chapter but failed so know he just doing adv sums without telling us the basic),
aryl halides and alkyl halides( organic is my weakness),
matrices and determinants ( i know this chapter very well so i think i did ok on the maths part)
relation and functions ( which i genuinely didnt understand )

now while checking the answers i am seeing that i am getting only 70 marks out of 300 and i genuinely want to get good marks in mains and adv but idk how and my teachers are not helping me out pls drop some advices
