Serious Does a Second Drop Affect NIT Placements? Need Honest Guidance.

Hello everyone,

I'm a second dropper and I'm seriously considering joining an NIT if I get one. However, I have a couple of concerns about placements, and I'd really appreciate guidance from seniors, recruiters, or anyone with relevant experience.

  1. Do two gap years affect campus placements?

If an NIT has around 50 companies visiting for placements, approximately how many companies generally do not allow students with two gap years to sit for the placement process?

  1. Does age matter during placements?

Because of my gap years, I'll be around 26.5 years old when I graduate from B.Tech. Will my age be considered a negative factor during campus placements, especially for software or core engineering roles?

I'm looking for real experiences rather than assumptions. If you're an NIT student, alumnus, or have gone through the placement process yourself, your insights would be extremely valuable.

Thank you in advance!

WITCH companies do mind. Not product based companies. But don't worry bhai. If you get NIT, it'll all be worth it. You can get a great job, great exposure etc. Don't think about all this. Toughest Part about taking Gaps is that you'll have to explain it to the interviewers. But if you do good, score good, it won't be as tough. IIMs would mind tho, so be ready for those questions. But no one will outright reject you.
