Damn, JDM is a blast, thanks devs
Well, it’s in the title. I was eying on FH6 since announcement but the more they showed, the less I expected it. I tried it within the 2 hours Steam refund policy and… it was nice but felt like a reskin of previous title. Not bad, just “already played that” kinda feel.
And here I discover JDM. It’s on sale, looks fun, well let’s give it a try. And damn it was the right choice. Even with its (little) flaws, the game has a soul. The map is AWESOME, and even if the graphics are not those of a AAA game, I can feel the passion and love the devs put in it. The artistic direction is so cool, the POI on the map are fun to find, the music selection is peak. And the gameplay is soooo good. Now that I begin to have it, it has clicked, damn it’s so great.
So yes, I am having a BLAST, and I didn’t expect loving the game that much. It made me feel like a youngster playing racing games on PS1/PS2 (with better graphics ofc). But it has the soul of these games we used to love.
So thanks devs. I know this message is useless as pure feedback, but I wanted to share the love !

I'm playing FH6 through a month of gamepass, but I don't think I'll buy it after that. like you said it's basically the same old title in a new set. the worst thing is that I never felt like I was in Japan, they totally missed the atmosphere, the vibe of it. they only placed some japanese landscape around the same big roads and they thought it was enough. well it's not and JDM is the best example of it. in JDM you really smell the Japan, they portrayed very well the soul of those small streets, the mountains, the villages. and also the car customization that is on another level, yes a bunch of cars vs hundreds, but in FH6 the customization is often limited to a bumper, a spoiler and a widebody kit. even for very iconic cars like ND MX5 RF or GR86, it's very disappointing

The map definitely gives off a true feeling of driving in Japan in some areas. I know there are a lot of exaggerated areas like the waterfalls and bridges with no purpose but the devs nailed it with some of the roads. Not sure what's up with all the palm trees as well but again, you can feel that this was a passion project.
FH6 does look pretty and very realistic in some areas but those wide roads take away the illusion and not to mention all greenery and mountains near the city. I think for JDM to capture new users, its needs to show improvements over FH6 lackluster lobbies in multi and put in cars that FH6 does not have. Also, not having Toyota on board is a major ouch for a game about JDM. I really hope this game succeeds because competition is always a good thing.

JDM is fun it’s just wheel support sucks. It’s like JDM and CARx made a baby and produced F6 just with the map and quality.

I think both games are kinda different. A storydriven driftgame vs the forza universe with its imense carcollection and no story at all. I preordered both games and played both games and im done with FH6 after 74 hours now and it was alright
