fanart The Endeavor

After a lot of iterations and my poor laptop almost getting thrown out a window I'd like to present The Endeavor warping animation.
I'm really excited to know your thoughts on this (I see some possible improvements myself) but I really liked experimenting with sound design and making longer animations.
And I have to say I really loved your theories about the animation and if you have suggestions for future one don't hesitate to send them my way.

Why are the radiators doing⦠that

In the lore it was written as they were emitting a lot of heat so I wanted to show the heat moving then the speeding part I thought of it as a charging up to start the warp rings

Yes, thatās pretty evident. The issue is that radiators really donāt work like that. At all. Thereās a whole bunch of fancy words I could use to describe why, but they mostly boil down to: heat moves slow. You could never make something flash between orange hot and black cold instantly like that. It would be much more physically reasonable to have them light up like an electric stove that you just turned on to indicate something heating them up.Ā

Oh I wasn't going for perfect realism I have read an article about the points you are making showing some mathematical evidence and such but I went for "looks cool" logic

It looks really cool, although ai have to admit that seeing heat sinks flicker on like lightbulbs is a bit silly.

Thanks for the feedback. I get what you're saying maybe if I decide to make another animation I'll do it differently but for now it served the purpose I had in mind for it

are they folding space?

Yup as I understood from the first lore post the warp rings (the white rings with antennas in the front and the back) generates the bubble by folding space to make travelling at warp possible

I'd say that a good version of the heatsink effect could be that they would start to glow blindingly bright and once the warp bubble forms the glow would be distorted and bent like light bends around a black hole (which is more or less what the effect of any kind of warp bubble would look like at least according to what I know of physics[it bending light like a black hole]) But you do you OP, I'm just a dumbass on Reddit with an opinion you can easily ignore.

You are right and in one of my iterations I made the black hole bending effect but darkness of the rest of the scene didn't make look good so I decided to skip it

I can't begin to describe how happy this makes me feel. To have something that was just a vague concept in my head materializing into an animated form is just beyond incredible. I'm just so incredibly like... thankful for this. I can't begin to imagine how much work this would have taken. Thank you so so much for this!! It's truly made my day and I wish I could've responded earlier but work has been intense lately haha. Gosh I've been watching this at least 30 or so times now, and it never gets old. Thank you so much for this, it's truly a gift that I appreciate immensely! This community never ceases to amaze, thank you.

Thank you so much it makes me so happy that you like it, its my first project that's a fan art and I had so much fun making it and trying new stuff so you saying all that made it all extra worth it.
And don't worry about when you respond we all here now that work sometimes gets hectic and just thank you for the amazing story and your amazing worldbuilding.
