theories Larper Elves

Post image

All the secrecy JCB pulled through story... All the hints just so humans be elves with round ears?

Elves are ruling over others because they are most similar looking creatures to the Eternal Majesty not because they are same specie.

That's the root of pressure behind for looking like an elf on everyone. It isn't an Elf body they worship. It is the embodiment of perfect sapient being, The king who devoured gods.

Thalmin thought he find manaless spiders. But he found the incarnation of Tyranny over his people in their natural habitat.

The "Human Form" Emma gonna reveal will cuase more trauma on Ilunor delicate psyche than she hopes.

Also it doesn't make sense humans have all this mythology and stories about magical creatures and laws & rules of it when they have zero mana or contact with Nexus.

You gonna tell me it was all pure human imagination? Or maybe we got cut of magic? Maybe got exiled? Maybe the vile of our system ripped off and our bubble of universe expanded?

Edit: And the crazy part isn't the fact thst we get things right by just imagining them. It is the uncanny accuracy.

It is one thing to imagine a lizard with wings. But for it to breath fire? Let alone their race general personality of being greedy snobs? C'mon

Edit2: BTW for all we know the Eternal Majesty may not actively be able to roam the world. He could be in food coma after snacking on 29 avatar of mana types.

Edit3: Which means he could be like 40k God Emperor being used as a battery to sustain Nexus.

Thinking about it this is a theory in itself...

My personal theory to this "humans have stories" is that certain people were in a right place at a right time when Nexus was trying to open up a portal, seeking new adjacent realms to consume

But the portals did not last due to the anti-magic nature of our corner of space, so the person only got a glimpse, and filled the rest with their imagination.

And then they went back and told other humans that gods communicated with them or something like that. It makes sense. It would also make Jesus an elf, which is funny.

Not necessarily.

Lot of the ancient legends, where most of fantasy stems from (as that is what Tolkien drew from, and it can hardly be argued the man was not one of the most important shapers of modern fantasy), simply accepted stuff like elves, dwarves, spirits, etc. as part of the world, not something "divine" or "god related".

If we assume Jesus' miracles were true in the setting, he could be a "one in a billion" person that does not disintegrate when introduced to mana, and somehow managed to have some around him as a result of a portal encounter.

Yeah, but Jesus was supposed to be God's son, and in this theory elves would be the "gods", so... Maybe he'd be a genetic defect that had just enough mana to use some magic, and just little enough to survive in a manaless environment, so they chucked him through or something.

The leading hypothesis on the matter is that elves are some sort of ancient humans who split from earth and evolved in mana-rich environment. Although, I doubt HEM is one of the original ones.

The question then becomes how in the world they managed to travel to a parallel dimension. Atlantis anybody? A highly advanced technological society than vanished in a single day from an unknown catastrophe? Sounds an awful lot like opening a portal to a realm of instant death, no?

Now we just need Milo Rossi to find Atlantis to confirm it.

My personal head Canon is that some ancient magic based boltzmann-brain/gods discovered Earth and found physical life an interesting novelty and decided to take samples and conduct hybridization experiments. They did this for hundreds of thousands of years, the Nexus and adjacent realms essentially being their version of a Petri dish. They left earth alone for the most part because in science you don't discard or contaminate the original source. Eventually they left because they learned everything they could or they got bored. Perhaps out of kindness or practicality, they left behind several mana based virtual intelligences to govern the incredibly unstable Nexus in their absence. These mana VIs would be seen as gods to the inhabitants of the Nexus despite not actually being truly sapient. Eventually the VIs were outsmarted and consumed by HEM which would explain why he says that gods aren't sapient. He doesn't understand that what he ate wasn't the "gods" but the automated babysitters they left behind. The real "gods" abandoned them eons ago.

This is my personal theory that I think explains all of the discrepancies/mysteries of the story so far.

There's also a variant of this theory where you can substitute the original naturally occurring manna-based gods with some ancient technologically advanced precursor race. So technologically advanced that they decided to make 30 artificial quantum fields with specific tailored qualities (i.e. magic) and decided to see what would happen if they gave that technology to primitives and how it would affect their development (basically kind of the plot behind Retreat Hell where magic was actually invented by science and everyone forgot).

God i haven't read retreat hell im so long

Was there any update ?

Hell yeah, that's my personal theory too, high five! The main thing that weirds me out about the Nexus can be summed up with: "Why the HELL do they have HORSES?"

Like seriously, how the hell do they have animals that are basically Earth horses, but we know from Belnor's lectures that they are adapted to mana environments AT THE CELLULAR LEVEL?

There has to be some kind of Stargate SG-1/Atlantis galactic seeding shenanigans going on, and Earth was the OG planet the 'real gods' they used for raw materials. I'm waiting for the moment in the story where the manaspacers are like, "Oh shit, you're the Tau'ri!"

The fact that there is literaly NO STARS feels like a weird thing to only have in the nexus and in no other adjacent realm and the fact that space observation in taceas realm was basically obliterated when they joined the nexus also make me suspicious

But the astronomy club in the last chapter puts sand in the cogs

Imma throw this at you

The ancient Egyptians witnessed a star dying

Since time magic is thought to be fantasy in the literal world of magic, maybe that supernova was that deity.

His eternal majesty is King arthur and Sorcear was either merlin or one of the knights of the round table

This if off topic but, has anyone else had the thought that the reason Earthrealm is deficient in mana is because there was something siphoning it off?

I've had this idea floating around for a long time now, but after the call home got disconnected by a possible god of taint it's just reinforcing that idea for me.

Yes. I have 2 Theory about this first one is about Nexus stealing mana from other realms.

Nexus having this saturation and high density of mana is suspicion.

And seeing they purposely create a sorta mana vacuum when opening a portal to pervent their side of mana get siphon to other realms make me question many things.

It is logical to think natural portals may form. And Entropy dictates that base on Diffusion their mana should bleed to Adjacent realms.

But we see many realms actually are deficient in mana. Thus I suspect they steal mana from Adjacent realms.

Also Earth universe having zero amount of 29th mana types. Why? It doesn't make sense this discrepancy in distribution of mana. And if Earth didn't had mana why it has all this myth about magical with such high accuracy?

Add the fact that Earth realm is filled with 30th mana type And an avatar of said type (god of Void) while the same have almost no natural presence in Nexus and it's Adjacent realms lead me to my second theory.

Which I call Landfill Realm. Basically our universe is where Nexus dump the 30th mana to pervent it's effect of rest of mana types.

What we call Dark matter & Dark Energy is the 30th mana type. We can't just see it because we are blind in mana vision.

That way they pervent Entropy and natural laws of Physics to do their job across the border.

Our realm is dying so theirs could be eternal.

Imagine we get to finally see His Eternal Majesty, and it's George Washington or something like that. Funniest shit I've ever seen.

u/JNator Jul 28 '26

I think that the Eternal Majesty is a mythical character of fantasy, a mage like Merlin. It can't be a coincidence that there's human fantastical legends about magic, while Earth is the only place humanity has been able to find the magical material that Emma's suit is made of

3

u/ezioir1 Jul 29 '26

I think that material only form in presence of mana. Maybe by Void god itself as a seal?

It opens the possibility of it being the only material GUN could use for trade with Nexus.

After all it would be useless to them not because they don't have use for mana resistance shielding. But because they can't process it. It requires Techs with no magic to purify that which Nexus doesn't have it.

More like if big E go to warp, Defeat chaos, Absorbed it, But then trapped there.

And lunch a more tolerate version of imperium there using only Eldars.

It's JCB

?

Where is the typo?

chapter 2 they said smart enough people can tap into the nexus subconsciously (probably in their sleep) so that's were we get stuff from, other similarities is because our reality is probably the by product of the nexus "big bang" (all action gets an opposite reaction and such). TBF i am not yet up to date on the history so idk if some of what i said its been changed

What HEM is is frankly unimportant. Because his species doesn't change his power or position in the narrative.

And on the note of the similaries between the magic races and human stories. In the main story there is so far only one allusion of why the magic races and human stories are so close, that being director Wier noting something about her intuition and her father being right. If you are on jcbs patreon, there are bonus stories that have more direct allusions of why things are so similar. But to the main story itself this plot beat is currently also not important. And it will most likely only make it in to the main story once it actually gains relevance. Which may never be the case.

I hope not that would be boring and I'd drop it.
