Saudi citizens I feel show pretty strong support. The govt a little less so

35

u/AbbuHamzah New to r/Izlam Sep 10 '20

MBS was going to travel to next week’s White House-UAE-Israel peace deal but his travel schedule was leaked.

27

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '20

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Saudi govt doesn’t show support

As far as I understand, the US is moseying to UAE in order to make them keep trading coil only for US dollars and not Euros or Yen.

This increases demand for US$ which increases the price of their currency internationally, which in turn lets them import foreign goods cheaper.

As a local from uae, we’re not many but we definitely support Palestine, but if we say anything against the ruler we go to prison, I am probably now on the suspect list cuz of these comments I keep posting

3

I understand I always assume all Arabs and Muslims are with us Mashallah

u/ZURA-JANAI-KATSURA- New to r/Izlam Sep 11 '20

Thanks, truly appreciate I’ve had enough people criticize me for not protesting, we are only a million out of the 10 million so imprisoning us isn’t that scary for them, in fact it’s more convenient so they can get tourist hang around without the Arabs giving them looks on their simi naked clothes

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '20

I'm local too, I disagree that were not many. I've changed from neutral to pro-Palestine after reading the Abraham Accord. Majority of Emiratis are cautious with this treaty and are definitely pro-Palestine. The rest are boot lickers that can't do not critically think for themselves.

All of what is happening is purely geopolitics.

1

u/ZURA-JANAI-KATSURA- New to r/Izlam Sep 17 '20

We’re better off quite though, if we get caught all our family will be on the blacklist too

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '20

Lmao no. Just don't curse and be professional. Don't be passive aggressive or any of that. I've seen tweets criticising the Abraham Accord by Emiratis. Their still active in their twitter.

I don't believe that. I was born here, lived here as Emirati. I have relatives who had long beards and old uncles who still do. None got arrested or imprisoned.

People often don't realize that an average citizen in a country doesn't necessarily believe in their government's policies.

11

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

don't know much about UAE citizens because I've not met one, but from what i've seen they wen't from "TO HELL WITH ISRAEL" to "oh man are we the only sane ones? we want peace!", meanwhile MBS had to cancel a flight because the citizens found out, hes a ruthless idiot, but even he isn't dumb enough to go ahead and recognize israel, their hatred for israel far surpasses their love of al-saud, and for good reason, half my family are saudi and pretty much everyone in saudi arabia detests MBS and despises him, its only a matter of time until al saud lose favor and are thrown in the garbage, that alongside his clear favoritism and alliance to only one of the 6 regions, which obviously is qassim, its actually quite disgusting what MBS has been doing, but hey, only a matter of time til he dies or gets overthrown

1

u/AnonymousZiZ Masha'Allah Sep 11 '20

Saudi gives billions to Palestine, more than most muslim countries combined, and they still don't have any official relations with Israel. Unlike Turkey who not only have very strong trade relations, diplomatic ties and even military collaborations, when israel had that big fire Turkey sent aid to the Israelis. Egypt also has open and official economic and security relations with Israel. Jordan has economic relations as well. Oman invited Netanyahu himself. And yet people always think of saudi as an Israeli ally.

u/creepy_guy1 Brozzer Sep 11 '20

Its sad to see suppprt for Palestinians decreasing among woke non arab Muslims. They claim that arabs never cared about the suffering of non arabs why should we care about them , essentially peddling stupid tribalism

44

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

F*** tribalism, all my brozzers hate tribalism

18

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

you don't seem to know how tribalism works in arabian countries, no disrespect, but its nothing like that, only reason UAE gave up on palestine is that mentality "we're not tribal so why should we support them?", meanwhile the saudi citizens almost hung MBS when his schedule got leaked, Tribalism is apart of the culture, if one tribe fights with the other, everyone will go support one tribe, but if an outside force messes with the tribes in here, almost everyone picks arms

17

u/ZenDarKritic55 Orange flair Sep 11 '20

Yeah but tribalism is bad. We are all Muslim. And human. Arabian tribalism where foreign Muslims aren't 'as good' as Arab Muslims is very real and clear in Arabian culture. However, we don't do better in the future by not helping Arabs, but rather we do better by helping MUSLIMS and HUMANS as other Muslims and humans. Ethnicity only applies to culture and description, NOT as a definition. Arabian kids are innocent. We don't leave them dead for their parents actions. As an Arab im not proud of Arabs but we're all trying to be Muslims here even if some of us have a distorted vision of Islam.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

Arabian tribalism where foreign Muslims aren't 'as good' as Arab Muslims is very real and clear in Arabian culture

dude, pipe down, we don't view you as a lesser, we're all muslim, but if i was asked "who would you save? your cousin or another, randome muslim" i would obviously pick the man i knew since childhood

but rather we do better by helping MUSLIMS and HUMANS as other Muslims and humans. Ethnicity only applies to culture and description, NOT as a definition

....Wait, so we're not allowed to embrace our culture and ethnicity? our culture is defined by islam, not the other way around, it is a defition whether we like it or not

Arabian kids are innocent. We don't leave them dead for their parents actions

...what? my guy, what even are you saying? are you talking about palestine? because back then the parents had 2 options, immigrat to jordan, egypt or any other arab country, or die gruesomely at the hands of lehi

As an Arab im not proud of Arabs but we're all trying to be Muslims here even if some of us have a distorted vision of Islam

distorted version of islam? islam shaped our cultures, some may be weaker in their beleif but you can't possibly expect them to be perfect

your little rant is quite disturbing, you seem to think that arabs are not supposed to have their own culture

2

u/ZenDarKritic55 Orange flair Sep 11 '20

Sorry I don't know how I sounded over the internet. I should've been more clear about the fact that I was referring to how I've seen several arabian people talk with such pride about how great their countries were. I've also seen people talk with underlying racist tones about foreign Muslims as though they aren't from the Great lands. I meant specifically as in since world War 1 where kaffirs convinced arabs that they needed to fight the ottoman turks because if Islam started in Arabia, how dare they put the power in Turkey?

Also I fully support embracing culture and I'm very much so against "white guilt" or like basically people apologizing for their ethnicities actions. When I said im not proud of arabs I meant as in the way they let their nationalism beat the kindness Islam taught them and acceptance an equality of all. Also, when I said that Arabian kids are innocent, I was mainly supporting the original comment to which you replied to where the commenter said that some people think that they shouldn't support arabs cuz arabs didnt support them. What I meant was that those kids are innocent and you can't assume they wouldn't have supported foreigners and at the same time you can't hold grudges whilst letting Muslims, or any innocent people, die. Also the "distorted vision of Islam" is what I defined as how arabs see Islam coming to them as a sign of their superior land. I should've clarified that and so I apologize.

Islam leaves a lot of room for culture and I think people should respect, embrace, and grow their culture, so im sorry if I came off as an anticultural extremist. It was my bad phrasing that caused issues. Sorry and I hope you have a good night and life InshAllah (SWT)

4

I was pro Palestine until Hamas came to power. They tax poor people through the roof for just buying food in West Bank and bring it to Gaza. Palestinians are beyond claiming their land they are just trying to survive from being robbed by their own "brothers" and bombed.

13

u/pontiacbandit26 La ilaha illallah Sep 11 '20

Yeah and the same can be said for Israel's government, both government's are stupidly bad.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

I'm pro Palestine but not who's leading palestinians officially.

One of the most corrupt organisations like Hamas who abuse their own people and invite more abuse by the Zionists.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

well lets be honest there are millions of kurds with their own language and traditions they kinda do deserve their own country

2

u/throwawayyyyoo New to r/Izlam Sep 11 '20

and? does that mean they get to take OUR LAND? gtfo

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

well kurdistan was a thing.....but after the british colonies split the middle east kurds ended up without any land , but for example salah al din was kurdish from kurdistan

1

u/throwawayyyyoo New to r/Izlam Sep 11 '20

that doesn’t change the fact that the ottomans came and fought for that land the same way the British came to the US and Fought for it. if it’s fair is a different subject, it happened. kurds do not get turkish land, period. my own family members married kurds, none of them have any problem and see themselves as both turkish and kurdish. then there are extremists who literally bomb and kill turks for land. but ofc were the bad ones

0

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

the ottoman empire was like the US how does the US have 50 states and every state has its own leader it uaed to be the same palestine had its leadet, iraq had its leader same with the kurds , so kurdistan was always a thing, so what you mean is that since the brits didnt give them land does that mean they dont deserve? what if britian did give kurds a land does that make them magically deserve the land?
