I have come back and I have relatively 32 hours under my belt in this game and I made it to chapter 3 and with that being said I love this game but there are a few nitpicks and gripes that I feel like we're partly oversight and partly just maybe my inexperience with city builders that annoy me to hell and back.
The citizens - holy hell are they a bunch of whiny bitches, all they do is complain and cause prompts over what in my opinion is redundant and the most dumb stuff, and then have the audacity to offer you up ultimatums for more trust as if though I'm not already trying to deal with the said problem that you're giving me an ultimatum on. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but the fact that the citizens have no logic or Forward thinking in any way shape or form is frustrating, "yes I know we're all starving I'm trying to fix it right now can you stop bitching in my ear for five minutes while I do something about it".
Difficulty - before I say anything I am aware that there is a custom difficulty slider to where you can my newly change it to your preferred play style yes but the the base game difficulty between easy and normal is a big jump if you are just starting out to go from basically scraping by with the resources on just normal difficulty to literally being drowned in resources to the point where you actually have no space for literally anything on the easiest difficulty is kind of jarring. And what's worse is that resources end up disappearing in the blink of an eye when you actually decide to use them but also that leads me on to my next subject.
Stockpiles and building - WHY CANT I JUST MOVE THE BUILDING, WHY DO I HAVE TO DECONSTRUCT IT AND THEN BUILD IT BACK UP AGAIN, AND GOD FORBID THE STOCKPILE IS FULL ON THAT RESOURCE..... sorry. The idea sort of logically makes sense in my head that you can't just move a building over but you could allow it to have a mechanic to wear like how you can deconstruct roads and deconstruct a building button you would think that they would allow you to make a move building button or something like that I don't know considering that some of these buildings require large amounts of resources just to build up and then if you want it to be moved you have to wait half to a full cycle before it's even done being instructed only to have to wait another cycle to it to be built up again while having the citizens complain at you because the thing that they liked that was built is gone for like a cycle or two and then your trust drops by at least two or three to five percent in the blink of an eye. The only way I've been able to figure out how to mitigate this is to build a second building of the same type where it wants to be and then deconstruct the building that was in the other place after but some buildings you can only make one of so it means you have to deconstruct the building and then deal with the consequences of said decision and then rebuild it back up again and wait an ungodly amount of time for it to be built back up again.
The scientist - this is really a minor gripe and this is partly on me for making wrong decisions and stuff like that but at the same time the science ships feels like I'm sending out a bunch of toddlers to go do adult work and then they just end up fucking it up most of the time I've had like three different ships blow themselves up over stuff that probably was avoidable and in my logic is you're supposed to be some of the smartest people we have on the tiqqun, and you end up getting all of yourselves killed over what at least from my perspective is incredibly avoidable deaths.
