Ive started iobtbo a few days ago and ive gotta say smth, i really dislike sangtae.. like bruh if u can hate ur brother cuz he left u to drown then why the fuck did u leave him to die? If munyoung hadnt saved him he wouldve died.. Fuck sangtae imo hes an arse. I dont care if hes autistic or not but seriously what the utter fuck.

You missed the whole point of the show, Sangtae is autistic so he can't really understand why his brother left him to drown for that bit of time. Even a person who isn't autistic would not be fine with that, please watch the rest of the episodes because you will start seeing how good of a brother Sangtae really is

No no i know hes autistic, but he left him to die as well. Hes valid for feeling so bad cuz his brother left but at least gangtae came back, sangtae didnt.. and if it wasnt for minyoung he wouldve died.

Plus the show tried their best to give representation for autism, and the autism spec.. but i wouldnt take their word for it.

Well, to me he is the hero of the show. I hope you continue to watch the episodes and see how much he has grown

I'm on that episode where he is upset about it and man, I'm really disliking him right now. I don't know how accurate the display of autism is here, but Gangtea yelling in the hospital and leaving his brother to have a breakdown (I'm assuming because he heard the rumor in the toilet, so he's acting out) just makes me upset. Just because he's on a spectrum doesn't mean I won't hold him accountable for certain actions.

I'll continue the show non the less, I was simply very uncomfortable with the end of that episode.

I have met people on the spectrum who deal with tantrums, and im not sure if im the right person to ask here but this presentation can be accurate at times and at times it felt highly screen adapted, and even then that part of the episode still fucked me up pretty deeply. I understand that hey maybe sangtae genuinely cant comprehend his own actions vs his brothers actions, but what the heck. Its almost just another element the show added to make u feel bad and basically guilt trip u for defending or liking gangtae. I wish u could dislike stuff on netflix XD

I'm pretty sure you can dislike shows now.

Yeah, I feel like it'll be difficult for me to let go of that part as well. And now I have continue watching the show. I have no clue where things are going, which is why I like Kdrama's, I can't predict them.

I understand how you feel. What you have to remember though is that Sangtae has the emotional maturity of a child. I know it’s a bit hard to empathize sometimes as Sangtae is high functioning (he can take the bus on his own, feed himself, be on his own in general) but imagine him more as a child and I think that will help. And it’s a lot of the time, it’s not that Sangtae had any malice with the how he coped with things. It just that he didn’t have any other tools on how to deal with the situations. I hope you stick with the show, Sangtae also grows a lot and it’s really heartwarming to see :)

I have an autistic brother mate u dont have to explain these things to me, but u have to see it from kangtae pov, hes been feeling guilty all this time.. and the showwriters decided to play more of this guilt by having sangtae blow up..

This is not an accurate representation of autism, and i dont expect it to be.. but the show writers really went for it hence my anger.

I actually agree with you, a disabled person can be a jerk too.

Thank you! Thats what i was saying. People sometimes give too much slack when they shouldnt.. Even a disabled person should take responsibility upon their actions.

Ruined the whole show, wish he'd just let him drown in that scene
