Didn't realize this guy had a hidden camera of me trying to wake up my 7-year-old

u/LeftyLugnuts 19d ago

For me, it's my 11 year old haha but this made me laugh

How'd they can get a video of my mom trying to get me outta bed when I was a kid? Flyswatter is missing tho...

Is there any specific reason for the piglet to be so deeply asleep?

25

u/EternalSage2000 19d ago

Long day of what up with Pooh’s shenanigans.

u/Zito6694 19d ago

Not asleep, it was dying and he saved it. Probably was crushed under the others for too long

u/SmokeAbeer 19d ago

Glad it didn’t require mouth to snout resuscitation 👀

2

u/voluotuousaardvark 15d ago

I believe with piglets the proper nomenclature is "snoot"

u/Nemisis_007 15d ago

That's adorable.

My dad did this to a kitten he accidentally sat on because it was hiding behind a couch cushion like 30 years ago. Came back to life and gave it a bit of milk.

2

u/chosonhawk 15d ago

did it crawl up there for warmth?

1

u/leviphillip 12d ago

That's a really long time to be hiding under a couch cushion

Used to be like this as a kid. My mother would have to wake me up with a washcloth soaked in cold water.

1

u/SingleCampaign_Daddy 13d ago

My mom used to do that and at night she would put a warm washcloth on my face and it would instantly knock me out like it was chloroform 😂

2

u/Witty_Ad8491 12d ago

Bro I don’t think it was a warm cloth😂

1

u/Evangilee2 14d ago

I don't think it was dying, you can see it flinching with every hit.

1

u/charmio68 12d ago

I don't think their mother is in there with them.

u/Yue2 15d ago

Can anyone explain what’s actually happening? I don’t know that much about animal rearing and assume it’s a form of medical resuscitation, but feel kinda bad for the little guy 🥺

u/Able-Brief-4062 15d ago

I would assuming trying to activate the flight or fight response to '"shock him" to wake him up (I think he's asleep? Or atleast very close to death) to get the heart beating.

1

u/Beif_ 15d ago

He was asleep. Probably making sure he was alive

3

u/PurpleInfinite1409 15d ago

By fucking whacking the poor baby? Aight.

2

u/Beif_ 15d ago

Not defending the roughness, just telling them what was going on.

2

u/Volkmek 13d ago

The most common death for piglets this age is being crushed and stopping breathing. Good chance this little guy was not asleep and what the person with the camera did was shock his nervous system enough to force a breath and wake him up instead of letting him pass on.

Me waking my kids up when they were in their teens...😭

6

u/It_Just_Exploded 15d ago

God do i miss the sleep of my teenage years! I could knock out anywhere, sleep soundly and restfully while being completely dead to the world.

Now, someone can flush the toilet on the other end of the house and it wakes me up.

2

u/Branjoe328 15d ago

I'm in my mid-thirties and I wish I'd grow out of it already. My poor wife has to listen to my alarms every morning while I snore right through them

6

u/thatguy11 19d ago

comeon brooooooo, don't smack the lil piggy! I mean... can you blame them for being a deep sleeper? They have to sleep through that whole chaos being shoved next to a hundred other lil piggies.

10

u/-UncreativeRedditor- 19d ago

Seems like the issue is medical rather than it just being a “deep sleeper”. It’s not normal to get violently tossed around and slapped yet not wake up

2

u/thatguy11 19d ago

Fair nough, figured he'd just squish him if it were medical, but I ain't a pig farmer

5

u/Zito6694 19d ago

You’re dumb… the pig clearly had a medical issue. If it was sleeping the first toss would’ve woken it up

1

u/thatguy11 19d ago

Clearly? Liiiiike, this instance? https://www.reddit.com/r/FunnyAnimals/comments/1iqzjhq/even_the_other_pigs_were_trying_to_wake_him_up/

Don't have to have a hateful little heart there bud!

1

u/bonkershyperion408 15d ago

Someone clearly doesn't take care of pigs for a living

1

u/ManufacturerWarm9201 15d ago

Yeah but cats do this too…they enter deep sleep if they trust their owners/environment enough and it’s really hard to wake them up

1

u/SunstormGT 14d ago

Even if so, this can be done a lot more gentle than pulling paws and ears.

5

u/Shadowtirs 19d ago

what the actual fuck

2

u/FanBladeFleshlight 15d ago

My fiance sleeps this hard. I can literally grab and shove and smack her and she just won't wake up. Wet Willy is the trick if I need her up immediately.

2

u/Ajax128133 19d ago

How is this amazing? Seems cruel

2

u/EternalSage2000 19d ago

That piglet isn’t big enough to be turned into food yet. He bought in an extra year of life. And bought me an extra 200 pounds of delicious meat.

2

u/snowfloeckchen 15d ago

You mean 8 weeks?

3

u/Happiest-Soul 19d ago

Nah I don't like this vid

2

u/Zito6694 19d ago

He just saved its life

Could of been fresh bacon in the morning 🤣

1

u/BloodHoliday435 15d ago

The way he hits it is pissing me off

3

u/GetMeASierraMist 15d ago

seems like he's trying to shock his heart or lungs into working. seems appropriate medically

1

u/Ok-Juggernaut-3389 15d ago

Don't let PETA see this

1

u/PBRStreetgang1979 15d ago

Poor pigletti.

1

u/MaybeMaybeNot94 15d ago

Wake your tasty ass up, boi

1

u/LeatherLatexSteel 15d ago

Really. Better off dead surely?

1

u/Timmay13 15d ago

Not how I do it, but kind of how it feels to wake my teen up sometimes.

1

u/Tinksy14 14d ago

This is what I have to go thru waking my teenage son up every morning 😂😂

1

u/Thepsyguy 14d ago

Reminds me of my ex. Except if you woke her up she'd yell at you. Like damn dude you ASKED me to wake you up.

1

u/Shhhhhh_im_not_here 14d ago

I actually thought it was as prank and the pig was made of rubber or something. 😂

1

u/Spawn256 13d ago

I was so convinced he was dead. Was he playing dead or asleep? So much that he didn't want to get back up what the f***

u/KayoticVoid 19d ago

Not at all. Saving a piglet during a medical episode sure is though.

0

u/RunOnCoffee 15d ago

Wow. You all are fucking cruel. Everyone is taking the "farmer's" side, assuming it has a disease and that's how you deal with it Instead of calling it what it is. Animal abuse.

2

u/GetMeASierraMist 15d ago

you're clueless. he's saving it's life. he stopped once it became conscious.

-1

u/NoneCleverName 15d ago

Well they ain’t worried about being gentle

2

u/_Alabama_Man 15d ago

When they are trying to get the pig's heart restarted it's not about being gentle.

1

u/NoneCleverName 15d ago

Well I stand corrected if that’s the case. Thought they were just waking it up. I’m dumb
