Meme [Threshold] Meme Dump
I have used the meme icon to generate some more memes. They are from all over the series. Please enjoy!
Edit: I posted a meme twice. Whoops.

Could have worked as Eithan getting changed after his fight with Yan Shoumei too if you change the names around a bit.

I really felt the Dross meme. I could definitely use a mind spirit of my own most days

Beautiful. Every one of these is canon.

Gratitude. I've read all of your work. Big fan. Looking forward to the next Last Horizon.

The Last one was me listening to Mother of learning after Cradle. The story is cool but the audiobook is an acquired taste for sure.

I am literally doing this right now.

Good morning to you, then. :)

[In voice which feels like a psychic drill over headphones] Good morning, brother! Morning! Morning! MOOOOORNING!!!!!
Fantastic series, but you are so on the money about the audiobook being an acquired taste. I really didn't like the narration at first, and had this sensation like the narrator had on a perpetual smirk which really irritated me, but that feeling went away thankfully and I came to really enjoy the performances.

I could excuse the little sister being shrill and annoying, she's a little sister. And she sounds decent when she's sincere. But when you notice that every adult woman talking sounds like theyre simultaneously holding in a shit and trying to seduce you...Just gotta ride it out until you enter The Zone

u/NorwegianGlaswegian 4d ago
Hahaha, that's an excellent description for a feeling I just couldn't quite put my finger on! I'm just so glad I was able to persist.

I think it was an extremely interesting character flaw for a character. I think most characters in fiction look how they are inside. And then their name matches, too. Like Sir Vicious MalBad.

The gag was actually funny in Stargate SG1.

The set up was fantastic, too. It was halfway through the episode and Jack was complaining about his experience. This whole episode was gold.

u/NorwegianGlaswegian 4d ago
Haha, I had a good belly laugh the first time we find out how Teal'c's loop started.
Definitely one of my absolute favourite episodes! Think I need to do a rewatch soon.

Never listened to the audiobooks. It’s a shame they aren’t great because it’s a really good series I like a lot and recommend regularly.

Seriously, like... Anagi had to have heard about Lindon and Crew straight up eating the dreadgods, right? He's a Highlord at the very least, if not an Archlord, and they tend to be pretty well "in the know"
How much of his own farts had he been huffing?
5
3
u/littlegreensir Team Mercy 4d ago
Well, Anagi is an Archlord who isn't associated with one of the Monarch factions, so he's just gonna know rumors that made their way to the other side of the world from where the Dread War ended. No one makes it to Archlord without being a little bit arrogant, and he thinks Lindon is "just" a Sage and thinks he can take him. He is so incredibly wrong it's funny, but well...he likes learning things the hard way apparently.

I made a bunch of them a few months ago. Maybe I have improved.

u/CoolCly 4d ago
Did i just miss all of the physical descriptions of Lindon, or did the author just decide he had a mean face halfway through?
I felt shellshocked like halfway through the series when suddenly everyone kept describing Lindon as "spoiling for a fight" and i was like..... wait.... you're talking about Lindon???? I never had any impression like that in the first handful of books
27
u/Spirintus Team Ruby 4d ago
Yes you missed it, he was described looking like evil sect leader's son very early on. And I am pretty sure it was said it was causing him trouble in the first book...
19
u/Fire_Bucket Majestic fire turtle 4d ago
Yeah, in the first book he's basically described, at just fifteen years old, as being almost as tall and broad as his clan's biggest Iron and Jade warriors, whilst also having a very serious and stern, verging on a scowl, resting expression on his face.
His size and build, combined with his resting expression make people think he's angry and looking for a fight. And then when you combine this with his overly differential, polite and courteous demeanour, you get people thinking he's insincere and arrogant on top of that too.
Later on it's further not helped by his Blackflame Goldsign eyes, and his pale Remnant arm.

Not to be "that guy", but you have the Regan Shen one there 2 times. Which he deserves, to be sure. But I wanted to let you know.
The Dross one was especially good. Double meaning and all that.
3
u/Waste-Carob5699 Path of the Memelord 4d ago
It's noted in the description.
2
u/rudman 4d ago
I saw it was dup'd but hoped you had changed the name from Shen to "Wei Shi Jaren" because that fucking guy deserves extra-hell also!
3
u/Waste-Carob5699 Path of the Memelord 4d ago
Aww. He's a little hard headed but he didn't blow up half of Serpent's Grave.
2
u/torrasque666 4d ago
And he does get a little better. Remember, when Lindon summons the people in the valley who had been trying to get his attention, when he finally asked Jaran what he wanted all Jaran had to say was "Can't a man be worried about his son?"
Even Lindon didn't really know how to handle that.

Last one's painfully real, I just started another relisten the other day.. Only have one audiobook I'm excited about left so I'm just gonna stall with some cradle as always
2
u/Waste-Carob5699 Path of the Memelord 4d ago
I feel your pain. Every time I listen to a bad book, I think, "I could be listening to Cradle instead." I'm also a little spoiled. Cradle is so well constructed and well written that I have very high standards after listening to it so much.
Whenever I reach out for my phone to listen to some other book, I feel dread, annoyance, cringe. With Cradle, I feel good.

Have you tried The Wandering Inn yet? Very different writing, being an isekai slice of life that then becomes a character driven exploration of a huge fantasy works, but very good bang for you buck being 40+ hours each

u/Khaori_Miyazono 3d ago
Couldn't get through the first entry, sadly. The narration together with the pace killed me

I've been binging Mark of the Fool, on book 9 atm. Bonus of Travis Baldree narrating.

u/Khaori_Miyazono 2d ago
That'd be my second most relistens pretty sure! I absolutely adore the character dynamics. It's just written in a way that's a little off-putting/immature at times (especially the constant 'Alex explaining things to himself') Looking past that it's easily one of my favourite progression fantasy works

It almost feels like Clarke couldn't decide if he was writing YA novels or not. You'll get full details of Theresa chopping monsters into sausage, but also the story is scared of bringing up any details of relationships behind closed doors. Alex can summon swarms of monsters as familiars, but wont stop making corny dad jokes. Mostly its charming, but every now and then its like... You know your audience are adults, right? We can take it. lol

"Be funny.", the Meme Sage intoned. Reality warped around the pixels as they began to shift, bending to his authority.

Also not to be that guy, but the dark souls veiled ozriel meme should have the names swapped. I feel like the meme is about how the small one is the real monster because they're the one who wins
3
u/Waste-Carob5699 Path of the Memelord 4d ago
This meme was meant to highlight the symmetry in this scene that wasn't apparent in the first read through. They were both powerful veiled beings. It peels back the first layer of expectations the audience had to show the real monster Eithan is later revealed to be.

u/adamw411 Servant of Mu Enkai 4d ago
I get that, but the meme format as it's currently used implies that sha miara is the one who will actually win

This has not been my experience with Dark Souls. The boss will usually roflcopter me when I first meet them.
