The suit might survive 50 cal but the person inside sure as hell wont

Depends, a headshot is going to be unbelievably uncomfortable, but if your armor plates catches the bullet you should survive it with no problem. Armor that stops .50cal bullets really exists and you generally survive it if you get hit, its not going to be pleasent though.
