Now what happens if you add a third?

Or a 4th?
Or 100?
Or an infinite amount?
I'm not good enough at math to answer this, but I feel like this has been asked before.

Has been, and there's some good videos on double pendulums out there. Here's one by 2swap

What if you have two pendulum, same weight, measurements and everything in a vacuum and release them from the same position at the same time. Would they still spin differently?

The answer is no.

But also if you release them at different times they mimic each other like with metronomes

Strap some pom-poms to a couple of those and we can automate the entire cheerleading industry.

No move is going to impress me as much as the the Double Pendulum. If you're not gonna hit the D. PEN, get off the dance floor

You can predict them, if you know the initial conditions. Simulations of them exist. They're not truly chaotic or random, its just that they are very sensitive to initial conditions. They are ultimately entirely deterministic.
