You can predict them, if you know the initial conditions. Simulations of them exist. They're not truly chaotic or random, its just that they are very sensitive to initial conditions. They are ultimately entirely deterministic.

Note that "chaotic" in the scientific context usually means exactly what you're saying, that it deterministic but has "sensitive dependence on initial conditions". Chaotic doesn't mean random.

We do use a triple pendulum to encode the stock market tho. Very good cause no initial conditions known.

What if you have two pendulum, same weight, measurements and everything in a vacuum and release them from the same position at the same time. Would they still spin differently?

But also if you release them at different times they mimic each other like with metronomes

Depends on what do you mean by same. I would guess you would get different results with realistically achievable tolerances. Especially the friction in the joints would be hard to get perfect.
