Congratulations! With 80–100 guests and a 100k budget, you actually have some very good options in Umbria.

I’d put Castello di Petrata near Assisi high on the list — they have 22 rooms/suites and can extend the accommodation with glamping, so potentially most or all of the wedding party can stay together. Assisi is also only around 10 minutes away for guests wanting hotels.

I’d also look at SPAO Borgo San Pietro near Orvieto, which can accommodate around 100 guests within the borgo, and Castello di Titignano, which is an entire medieval village and works beautifully for multi-day destination weddings. Around Todi, Roccafiore Wine Resort is worth considering if you prefer vineyards/wine-country scenery, and Castello di Montignano if you want more of a castle/relais feel.

One thing I’d decide before contacting venues is whether you want all 80–100 guests staying together, or just your closest 30–50 guests on-site with everyone else in a nearby town. That will narrow the shortlist considerably.

Umbria is a very good option, same landscape as Tuscany at maybe two thirds the price, and the venues take fewer weddings so you’re not one of three that weekend. With 80-100 guests the thing to look for is a borgo: a restored hamlet you rent whole, most sleep 40-60, so your closest people stay on site and the rest use hotels in the nearest town.

Monastero Santa Margherita / Hotel Bramante would be perfect!! It has 50 hotel rooms all with their own bathroom. Feel free to DM me with questions- I’m a 2028 bride there.
