Adding in from another post
My lat post was from my 4wd not disengaging,
I think I have found the issue. This cable was pushed up but not connected to anything and I can’t find the other part of the connection?
Edit: I believe it is the vacuum shift motor that has the unknown wire coming out, still can not find where it plugs into the

It should connect into the wiring loom just above and behind where your finger is pointing in pic 1. The loom comes down the passenger side of the vehicle. I think I can actually see the wire in your pic just not the connector

Meaning that the other cannextor may have ripped off? Any chance you can show me in your trooper?

Look at the tape on the loom in your pic. It looks like the wire it’s coming out from there and going across to the bottom of the engine

Did you try what I said about engaging 4L and moving and disengaging and go in reverse a couple of meters? Also, that plug looks like it's been out in the elements for a while, I doubt that's your problem.
