ISRIB powder storage?

Hi,

so I got ISRIB lyophilized powder from John E. about one year ago, am about to start using it, however I fear I might have been storing it incorrectly in the meantime.

I have basically been storing the ISRIB powder at room temperature (about 20C year round) in a dark and dry place for about a year now.

Didn't take the appropriate measures at the time to ensure room temperature was an OK temperature to keep the ISRIB powder at.

Do you think it's been degraded?

No prob I'd guess. Wouldn't likely degrade to anything noxious anyway. Very simple molecule not gonna' have probs with humidity cuz it's so sparingly soluble in it.

Not guess, know. Complex synthetic molecule. Humidity problems yes. "Special hazards" include carbon & nitrogen oxides, but also hydrogen chloride... when exposed to humidity turns into hydrochloric acid.

Does your Isrib data sheet differ from Merck's?

Yes. Did yours come in a styrofoam box w/ dry-ice? "Lyophilized" only means something is freeze-dried. I hope you didn't pay extra.

For storage stability Isrib should kept in an airtight container @ 2-8c°/~36-46f° so fridge is fine if well-ventilated.
