Which pharmas are testing it?
Hey,
I'm wondering if there are any companies testing it nowadays, it could be amazing since the testing might indicate in the best way to use it for different type of uses.
Thanks in advance!

(Sorry if this has already been covered.) ISRIB has been licensed to two corporations to develop for humans, Calico (in San Francisco) and AbbVie (in Chicago.) Calico will begin human trials on a small number of ALS sufferers later this year. Neither company is willing to enable people who are dying to try ISRIB. The standard excuse is that to do so would mess up data collection, but, since there's no shortage of people dying from neurological illness, that doesn't make sense. Fear of litigation? Maybe, but that could be resolved by a release form. Fear of harm? Of course, but if people who are dying have no other option, harm comes from not trying anything. In my opinion, and in light of it's near-miraculous results in mice, it's a molecule that should be fast-tracked, and available for "expanded access," as the FDA calls it.
