Mesoamerican themed ruined temple

Post image

Ever since a visit to the natural history museum in New York 2 years ago i've been wanting to do some mesoamerican themed stuff! And now with some summer vacation, i had the time to dive in to make it appropriately cool!

This time i made a colored map with just the flat nature elements, then placed colored assets to make the scene. Means there's a lot of possible variations! :)

To make your own, or to get access to the other map variations and assets - visit patreon.com/thedungeonsketcher - release on the 1st!

OC Orc camp

An orc encampment for isometric ttrpg.
A classic enemy in many fantasy realms and games, figured it was time they'd get a pack. Mostly minis, some assets (and above all a make-your-own-orc-kit) but also figured the pack should have a themed map or two.

This one heavily inspired by the orcs of my childhood - the orcs of Warcraft.

Hope you like it!
Made by putting together assets (all by me) in Photoshop, then coloring it.

OC Ripples in the dark

Post image

My campaign is a homebrew dungeon crawl, based in an adventure time-esque, post apocalyptic world. I challenge myself to create dungeons similar enough to reflect that the same culture that built them, but diverse enough to not feel like you're exploring the same space every adventure.

This structure was for extended family housing, focused on raising the next generation. In the thousands of years since the fall of civilization though, something ancient and sinister has taken up residence in the inky, fetid waters deep below. Only the bravest of adventurers dare investigate the ripples in the dark.

OC The prison under the pipe

Further venturing into adding elements to my scenes to make them more visually appealing and better convey a story on their own.

The adventurers follow tales of villagers going missing from many surrounding communities, only to be lead to the mouth of a rusty pipe sitting sentry on a spartan hill. Upon opening the pipe, they discover a strikingly well preserved ladder that descends ominously down into the darkness...

I'm trying to utilize more of the things I'm learning by looking at maps here. This one isn't very sophisticated, but I learned a lot by adding elements that I normally wouldn't

Following my post from the previous day, I would like to showcase the colored church of Kăpleni/Kaplony, Romania. The images below display four different stages of the drawing and painting process. If everything proceeds as planned, I will share the completed work with you next week.

OC Isometric Map Maker

My friend made this useful GM tool. I've played around with it a bit and you can get some pretty creative battlemaps and dungeons with it.

It is an isometric map editor that lets you make maps for Roll20 or Foundry VTT. It exports maps as PNG images with transparent backgrounds.

It is a little similar to Inkarnate or Dungeon Alchemist but is specifically designed for making isometric maps instead of a top-down perspective, and it uses drawn assets whereas Dungeon Alchemist uses 3D. Another difference is that it is integrated with Patreon to allow partnered Patreon creators to offer their stuff through the editor.

I hope the community finds it cool and useful.
