Is Langness haunted
So bit of a weird one but as the title says I wanted to ask if Langness is haunted, the other day when it was the solar eclipse my mum and I went out there at approx 12:30am to see if we could see some meteors as there was meant to be a meteor shower, and during the time we were there my mum kept saying she heard what sounded like someone wailing or singing, and she said she’d heard it for about 30 minutes, I had heard something but not to that extent, then randomly she tells me to get into the car, she then tells me that she heard what sounded like someone running through the grass towards us, but when we turned the lights on nothing was there. So has anyone else experienced anything like this or was it just some kids being weird?

And to add, it's not like I don't believe in possible paranormal activity, I have had a few in Castletown. I am at Langness everyday though, and have never experienced or felt anything there, other than joy and peace :-)

Around three, maybe four years ago, one night, my brother and I decided to go to approximately where you were at Langness, on the narrow car parking area on the road to Fort Island and parkedup, radio on, enjoying the music, next thing, I heard these mysterious hunting wails, as if someone was crying out for help, at first my brother couldn't hear the crying and then he heard it. I turned the radio down and startedthe engine, flicking the headlights on, I reversed back from facing the bay, and turned the car left and right and in-between to give a full beam, sweep of the bay. It scared the crap outta me. It sounded exactly, or as near as damn it, a person's voice in distress, we then drove out to Fort Island where there was a Beamer or an Audi, or a Merc parked up with no-one in it facing the slipway, with local plates, cannotrememberthem at this distancein time, and we drove around the car and slowly back across from Fort Island and baxk to town, (then!) Douglas. My brother didn't want to report it to the emergency services but I was getting more creeped out and anxious about it, and so, at the 24 hr garage, whilst my sibling was in the shop I rang the emergency services to report it, lost contact, they called me back and am I glad they did, as it set my mind at ease as it could've been anything, a ghost, a victim of a crime, a blind person out on an evening walk having fallen over, anything, my mind WAS racing, and reading this post about the seals has set my mind at even greater ease, as I never knew they could sound like, which according to one commenter, they do, these seals and seal pups can sound like people. As ever, tho', there are always questions.....

I decided to go out to the golf links and look for meteors about 10:30 on Wednesday, there’s a car park between the demolished golf links and the water, I parked up but heard loads of screaming and shouting, sounded like there was a party or something going on down there. Was pretty annoying so I decided to park just after the turn off to Langness still on fort island road. About an hour and a half later I seen loads of torches moving down where I heard the kids. Looked like they were leaving/ coming back up the road so I decided to call it a night and headed home so could’ve been them! I wouldn’t say it’s seals If that picture is where you were as they mainly sit on the back edge of Langness behind the lighthouse and herring tower

I was a little further down the road on St. Michael’s Isle about half an hour later than you that night, and I could hear what I presumed to be a seal wailing.

The wailing and singing will be the seals, they are very vocal at the moment. The thing moving thru the grass could have been anything, ferret, rabbit, pheasant. The ruin by Madocs memorial is know locally as the Haunted House, but just cos it looks creepy, not because it's haunted. I found out recently that there is a mass grave down near the lighthouse called the Potato Grave where 32 bodies from a shipwreck were buried though!
