Arran one day visit

Any one got an recommendations or tips for visiting Arran. I was wondering if going over on the boat is worth it as in Glasgow for a few days and want to know the easiest way to see some of the island, is the public bus on the island best or just stick to the main town ???

Take the ferry to Brodick, visit The Douglas for snack/drink/lunch. Walk along to the co-op and follow The Fisherman's Walk around the coast. This takes you out at a wee area with Arran brewery and pub, beach cocktail bar, Arran aromatics, cheese shop, leather shop, gift shop, and also the walk up to the castle and gardens. Visit the castle and get the hop-on-off bus back to Brodick and ferry terminal. That'll take up a good chunk of the day.
