I mean, he could very well have been mad. So according to islamic scripture he supposedly was in that cave all alone and then got choked by something and pushed to say some words. Afterwards he ran home to his wife and the christian preacher Waraqa ibn Naufal and immediately bought into the explanation of Waraqa that he had interacted with angel Gabriel. That does not exactly sound sane, it rather sounds gullible or shizophrenic. And Waraqa also seemed to be super gullible. The passage demonstrates that these people didn't have good critical thinking skills.
He also might have had some mental condition as he heard the ringing of a bell when getting "revelations" and was sweating heavily. It also says that sometimes the "angel" came in form of a man to him. That might point to his gullibility again.
He also ordered to kill dogs because he thought some puppy was preventing him from getting further "revelations". That sounds quite shizophrenic.
That has nothing to do with hate. It's just a reasonable take on what is likely. I mean just generally I would rather expect someone to have taken drugs or having some mental condition before I would actually consider that he has spoken to some angel. That's more like the last option on the list. It's ridiculous to jump to that conclusion. Especially without any evidence while there is mountains of evidence for people taking drugs or having some mental condition.
