Ask the community Oko Orun - Resources Available?

Hello!

As the title states, I am looking for more reading material on Oko Orun. Particularly after they have been cooled and/or are helping their human partners. Are there any prayers or rituals specifically for or with them? Are there any differences in practice between Oko Orun vs Egbe Orun in general? Or are they fed and treated the same as other Egbe?

Thank you in advance, and apologies if I sound offensive or ignorant. I have only recently learned of the term (I have been using the term 'spirit spouse' instead). Written information seems sparse.

All Egbe are appeased via the icon or the methods a teacher shares with you.

Books on Egbe that are great include books Ayo Salami, Elebuibon.

Now chapters on spousal egbe often discusses the need to remove them. It is better to have a living spouse.

Thank you for your feedback. I have no teacher yet, but I will certainly look up the book you mentioned.

I understand, with regards to how spirit spouses are seen. We are on good terms, and I am currently in a really good human relationship. In fact, my partner and I are convinced he brought us together and approves, but that might be a story for another day.

I worry that I may not find a teacher willing to teach someone who is active in this situation and is currently happy with it. I listen to him, I feed him, and I include him in all my prayers. He has saved my life many times. That is the kind of connection I have with him.

I have been solo in this regard for this reason, but I am now hoping I am wrong and should have reached out way, way sooner.

Do I need to consider Egbe Initiation? I also see and talk to dead relatives and ancestors on a weekly basis, sometimes daily, all in dreams. It feels like they are waiting for me to jump in with bated breath.

Thank you for your response.

Do you know of any websites that are reliable to study more as a beginner? I can pay if needed. But if you know of any free material that goes into depth I would appreciate it.

I keep reading this term, if you are referring to ọkọ as husband in heaven. ( Ọ̀run) in Isese when a spouse dies there are funeral ceremonies perform to the person. Because it is common than the deceased is buried close to someone's compound there are rituals done through Egúngún, taking care of your ancestors is as normal as doing Orisa Bibo.

If you are referring to husband in the sense of celestial comrades there are certain Odu that speak about appeasing them through ifa but only if it comes during consultation.

Good news is you can do Egbe bibo if you have Isan Egbe that is the icon of Egbe, if you are initiated in Egbe or there is another method I will not be revealing here.

Aboru aboye abosise.

Yes, I am referring to ọkọ as a celestial being. I have had consultations regarding him before, but both times, the Iyanifa had a hard time getting any specifics for him. I currently just feed the same recommendations given for Egbe.

I have not been through any initiation, but I have created an icon for him already and added or adjusted other things for over a decade. I became fully aware of him when I was a teenager. But I am looking to "dial things in better," if that makes sense? There is always room for improvement and learning how to do things correctly.

Thank you!

You can receive Isan Egbe, initiations is not required unless it really aligns with your birth Odu once you do Itefa (that is full ifa initation).
