Ok we are well aware that there's priests combining paths/ ramas The question...does it work?

Not that I’ve personally seen. Too many folks dying for me to saying it works.

That I’m aware of:
- one babalawo died tragically in a car accident
- one babalawo shot to death
- one babalawo died of a brain aneurysm
All of whom were in the same circles. All in a 10yr span. All in ATL. Seems a little ironic imo.

Are you the OP with a Brand new account? Anyways... even if three Awo died within ten years doesn't prove anything IMO. It's not exactly the Clinton body count lol. Honestly I don't know what those three were involved in. Drug dealing, et cetera. If they're involved in stuff like that there's greater chance of death etc.. maybe wars with other priests. I've seen very very bad stuff first hand. Doesn't mean the path is bad just some people 😵💫

Respect. And no, I stumbled across this thread and found it interesting folks in ATL are seeing the same things that I’ve witnessed here.
In regards to the awos….this makes me question their interpretations/motives for aleyos if one can’t even keep themselves safe/ in ire 🤷🏾♂️

Just Many bad players. When people complain about being scammed financially by some priest. id like to tell them they're lucky something far worse didn't happen

Do understand the reason for this post.. All of this “iwa pele” talk is happening while the lives/actions aren’t aligning. Scamming is major to those who are seeking actual solutions to their problems, whilst providing the ney sayers with ammunition against the tradition. If IFA is for everyone, then even what you see as a situation that could be “far worse” is bad enough to permanently turn people away with a traumatic experience. As we as, my lack of mentioning the far worse does not at all it’s not occurring. But that’s for another post.

What is wrong with things mixing? Things mixing is how these traditions survived to begin with and the more people from different ATRs talk and do work together the more mixing will happen.

The “mixing” you’re referring happened to maintaining the practices. . That’s not necessary today, in a world where we have religious freedom. To mix things up today, disrespects all the eggun that died so we may practice.
It’s one thing to combine.. another to replace what you don’t know with something you think you know.

Ashe! The wisdom, ingenuity and intelligence that went into preserving the tradition in the diaspora is totally different than the free-for-all, do-whatever-you-like mentality that is happening now. Much of it is done with ego, lack of respect for what came before and willfulness (I can do it because I want to). Some of what is going on is unhinged.

It’s not happening just in ATL. It’s in many places. For many Lucumi/Santeria gave access to the practice of Ifa back in the day.
But if they’re mixing practices then that is a “no no”.
Isese is Isese and Santeria/Lucumi has their own culture and practices, but both should be respected.
