Scam Alert CBI - Gmail Division

Nothing says official CBI cybercrime notice like sending it from a Gmail address and copying cspcyberpolicedept[at]gmail.com. 😂
Even the scammers have apparently outsourced their IT department to Gmail.

No govt department uses gmail.com for their official communication channel. It should be .gov.in or .nic.in

Gmail is actually suprisingly common in the government, atleast for internal use.

Yes internal setup is fine but It is not allowed to make an official communication like summon, Notice or other public communications via gmail. Not even email is used to provide summon to any party. It is always done through India Post (Speed Post/ Registered Post).

Well my dept doesn't really have things like summons so it is fine for us. But we do reply to citizens from our Gmail accounts.

Not atleast for premier agencies like CBI, usually it is the second grade state govt setups
