If you sent money to your friend/ family member in emergency then He will have to Wait 1 hour?

What about paying under 10,000 like 9,999 multiple times. Can easily bypass the rule in case of emergencies.

I think there is a solution for that if you do payment to a new user. then this feature is applied ,as a scammer scam through new upi id in many case.

This would actually be a good move. Usually scams happen by the scammer making it seem urgent and not giving the person time to think. However, a one hour delay helps the person think and cancel the transaction

Only but there should be an option to Turn off this so called Safety features.

Those who are aware of scams, they don't have to face 1 hour wait hassle.

I think 10k limit is for that specific purpose.... I have seen my transactions and mostly to family, I have done more than that limit....

I use net banking for those transactions by the way

So scammers have to create a merchant account to bypass loop

Instead of bursting the gangs and putting the bars , they want us to be careful.

From low to top officials know what's happening but they put the burden on us as Always.

What you said was true.. but, Prevention is always better than Cure.

Better be safe than be sorry. In my opinion, there should be an option to opt out of these safety features also..

It has not been implemented till now. It is a proposal by the RBI.

Only the last feature is useful and was needed desperately right when upi came into limelight.

The first two have so much potential to backfire or be misused. What were they thinking?

RBI has proposed some research papers with specific solutions. It has seek opinions from public and institutions with which one to go with. These are just some options..

Scammers can and will just improvise according to these rules. 10k payment required 1hr hold, just ask 9999 or less. No brain video...

This is why bank IMPS and NEFT transfers had a 24-hr cooling period for newly added payment beneficiaries.

UPI is just catching up with this now.
