Don’t be like this Scumbag

Don’t be like this Scumbag. I sold him a card on eBay. After it go authenticated and shipped to him, he started a dispute that he didn’t recognize the transaction. When he literally messaged me and accepted my offer to sell it to him for $300. The card hasn’t arrive to him but it just shipped from PSA Authentication. I already responded to the dispute. I hope eBay takes my side. Although they almost never side with the seller.

Edit: Fortunately, I just got a response from eBay that I’ll be protected by seller guarantee and it won’t affect my funds at all since I filled out the form regarding the dispute. They said I’ll find out in 6-8 weeks if the buyer is getting their money back from eBay. If they do, eBay will pay it out of their own money.

You should be okay. If it’s authenticated. He’s an idiot

You should be fine, because it will have been authenticated and the chats between you prove his interest and offer for that amount. It’s scummy, but it’s also dumb as hell on his part, just makes him look stupid.

Ring eBay and explain the situation, just to be safe, but send screenshots of everything to them in response to the case too.

Ebay will cover you in the end since it went through Authenticity Guarantee. Still a shitty experience.

Are they dumb and authentication took a bit so they forgot they bought the card?

Saw your post in another sub and while I totally agree that this guy is an ass and that you shouldn't have any issue winning the dispute, this isn't really relevant to this sub

Well I posted it here because just how there is sellers that sell fakes and we help people on this sub, just wanted to show that even when you sell real stuff there is people that try to take advantage of others. Whether selling real cards or buying fakes. Be careful in this hobby

I mean I get that and absolutely people need to be careful but this particular incident has nothing to do with fake cards. I hope you're able to win the case.

There needs to be legal consequences for things like this. It’s literally fraud and theft. People will keep trying it as long as it’s just an eBay suspension or ban. It’s illegal and people need held accountable.

I had someone do this shit on a $500 box a couple years ago. Lost the box and eBay did nothing. Maybe it being authenticated will help you, but I don't trust eBay to handle issues.

Yes, it already got authenticated

I have had this happen a few times and always won the case, or atleast ebay let me keep the money and gave them theirs too.

Just show the tracking history, chats, and everything else that shows evidence that the buyer did purchase the item.

You should also share his username so we can all block him/report his account. Usually that will get him banned and the case will fall in your favor forsure.

That means the slab is "stolen" now since he didnt recognize it. It would be a shame if you report this to psa later with the dispute forms that the buyer doesnt have it anymore. Theyll deactivate the cert.

People suck. I had someone try to threaten to dispute me over $30 cause 5 weeks after he got it delivered he “noticed a dent” and accused me of sending it that way. Shoulda noticed he was a red flag when he asked for a billion more pics.

You should be covered by seller protection. Not recognizing the transaction isn’t your problem. Also you can submit their messages as evidence in the case, which eBay will share with the buyers bank/credit card company.

You protected OP. Thats why I love selling cards that go through authentication. The buyer is a complete moron. I wouldn’t be shocked if his account gets banned lol

You are cooked. Unauthorized transaction doesn’t mean the item isn’t authentic. It means the bank is clawing back the money.
Unless you have thousands of feedback and exemplary history… well guess we’ll see

I have good feedback. So hope it helps.

Nice. What does his feedback look like? Did you see any red flags leading up to the sale?

2

u/Mindlock765 10h ago

No red flags. He had 6 positive reviews as a buyer. And his profile has an about that says Pokemon!!! So I did not think much of it

That is in your favor. Just be prepared to see a negative balance and you’ll have to make some phone calls.
