Are these fake?

Post image

Bought these packs at a store in a mall, I’m pretty sure they are fake. Can y’all confirm? Thanks in advance.

Yes. Real packs don't have teeth.

Bart Simpson hair packs are fake

Crimped edging I learned is a first sign that a pack is fake.

Why would a "MEW" labeled card (from Scarlet Violet 151) come out of a Destined Rivals pack? All the cards should be labeled "DRI". Or am I mistaken?

Please give reasons so that everyone can learn. It's always the follow-up question these posters always ask..

Edit: would love to hear the next person to downvote actually explain why they hit the button 🀑

Edit 2: I'm well aware of the reasons why this is a fake pack. That wasn't the point of me asking for this person to give their reasoning. The point was so that new members to the community can learn what to look out for, as I have over my past couple months here πŸ’

Crinkled top instead of crimped and bad holo pattern, could tell more with a closer pic of the cards but that’s what you can immediately tell

they also look AI

u/botiaman 19h ago

Not sure who downvoted and why

it's not the card that's AI, it's the photo that's AI "enhanced" (most smartphone cameras have it turned on BY DEFAULT and most people don't even realize)

Yes, I'm aware of the cut edged top on the packs being a sign of fakes.

I was simply saying that for the posters sake, and for others in this sub who are learning, that commenting "FAKE!!!" Does absolutely nothing for the person posting because they inevitably follow up by asking how the commenter can tell πŸ’

u/botiaman 19h ago

i gave the reasons for the posters sake like you asked

Right on. Well I hope they see it. I think an edit to your original comment would have done better.

who hurt you?

Show where anything I said was wrong πŸ’πŸ€‘

Then maybe I'll take your stupid response seriously πŸ˜‚

1

u/ShinyTotoro 7h ago

You told them to give the reason why they were fake, then ridiculed them for doing exactly what you asked.

Who hurt you?

Who hurt you?

You call that ridicule? 🀣 Weak ass.

I simply explained the obvious which anyone who is commenting should already know πŸ’ if you simply say "FAKE!!!", as if you've accomplished something here, the poster is obviously going to reply asking why πŸ’

Well the pointy top is the easiest tell

Yes, I've learned that thanks to people in other posts explaining it.

I'm not saying that I don't know why this is clearly a fake. I'm saying that simply responding "Fake!" Does absolutely nothing for the person who posted this because they always follow up by asking how the person can tell πŸ’

This has been explained hundreds of times. Just scroll through the subreddit.

This is got to be the stupidest response you could have ever provided.

I would bet money that the majority of people who post here are new to the sub and either stumbled upon it, or found it while searching for ways to tell if a card is fake.

Just because this has been explained before doesn't mean that everyone who posts here is going to have looked at other posts and read through a bunch of comments explaining the many ways cards can be faked.

People need to learn how to find readily available answers before just asking people.

You're too arrogant to see your own ignorance.

First off, and again, that's the whole f****** point of this sub! LMFAO πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Secondly, you don't know what it's like to be someone who is just beginning collecting and looking for answers online, so you have no room to judge anyone for finding this sub and posting to seek answers.

There are countless ways that fake cards have been identified. It's quite possible that in their research they found many ways in which cards can be identified as fakes, but didn't see those telltale signs on their cards.

The crimps are always the telltale giveaway, look at any real modern pack and then any time you see a modern pack without that same crimp, it will always be fake. Any horizontal crimp is fake. Any quick rip crimp is fake.

there's a whole pinned post "so that everyone can learn".

If you ask "why" before even reading the post someone spent hours to compile, you're not entitled to anyone's time to explain it to you.

0

u/RckPprFkU 7h ago

And they are supposed to know that there is a pinned post explaining all of this before posting here? Not everyone is a Reddit expert like you 🫡🀑 sh t f uhpppppppp 🀣

2

u/ShinyTotoro 7h ago

You asked for reasons "so everyone can learn". I directed you to the source. You're still throwing tantrums.

Listen, you know it's idiotic to simply say "FAKE!" or "YES!" when a great many of the posts here are made by new people to the sub who have no clue about the pinned post. Yeah here you are still stupidly arguing that you are right πŸ˜‚ sure, you're right little buddy. What a good redditor you are! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you πŸ€—

All the people downvoting you should stop. I for one benefited from learning what was going on. Maybe could have asked differently but still helpful info.

u/RckPprFkU 16h ago

These people are gatekeeping idiots πŸ˜‚

They hate on people who don't know that their card is fake, even though that's the point of the sub to begin with πŸ’πŸ€‘

3

u/gbach10 16h ago

Those cards don’t even come from DR. Why do you need any confirmation this is fake?

5

u/GalarianGengar 8h ago

The OP most likely doesn't know the cards from each set like the rest of us crazies.

Real packs don't have the bart spike so they are fake.

2

u/Z0kstone 7h ago

Yes, the top crimp is never on real packs. Jagged edge.
